Question about Samsung HLN617W 61" Rear Projection HDTV

Diagonal Shadow I have installed a new color wheel. When I put everything back together It was great. Unfortunately the safety switch had broken and I tried taping it in an on position. That worked, but after getting the TV back into its location, it now has a dark translucent diagonal shadow across approximately half the screen. It almost looks like something is either obstructing part of the lens or light source. Do you have any suggestions?

It is possible that when you changed the color wheel you damaged the light tunnel. depending on the model number this may be a replaceable part.early model tunnels are easy to change with no tunnel alignment problems but later models the tunnel is easy to change but almost impossible to align

I have a LT1042, cub cadet. PTO clutch burnt up. I replaced it and the solenoid, fuse, and relay. Thinking that when PTO clutch burnt out that something else like a wire or sensor went out also.

Check all the safety switches u have a bad one look under the seat first that one is a common problem so I take it your PTO won't engage I bet your old PTO is still good the safety junk they put on these mowers fails a lot causing problems running your mower also look under the back side by the tire there is another safety switch that gets corroded that's switch is the one that will not let you mow in reverse if you want to bypass it u can just put the wires together then beware your mower will work in reverse also I hope this helps you have a great day Regards Chris

I found my broken lid switch and its two plastice pieces i am not sure how to put it back together and fix it. Or can i buy a new one and then install it? Also i dont know how to take the top off too look...

I believe you're referring to the lid safety switch. Do not operate your machine without this safety switch! The switch / wiring harness are not very hard to install... here's how-

---UNPLUG THE WASHER FROM THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET---
1. Remove console, depending on vintage, there should be a couple of screws that will allow you to rotate the console up and back.
2. Remove 2 gold clips at rear of top. These clips are the only thing that retain the top / lid / cabinet
3. Unplug lid switch harness (small white connector at rear of top)
4. Rotate the cabinet up a few inches at the rear and pull it straight off. The top / lid / cabinet will come off as a single unit. The entire lid switch and harness are connected under the top w/ a couple of screws and a few spring retainers.
5. Buy replacement parts at a local appliance repair shop, including a new striker (the part that pushes the switch down when you close the lid).
6. Reinstall everything reverse from above. When you rotate the cabinet back on, make sure you have the front edge under the base channel and push inward on the rear corners to engage the cabinet on the rear base tabs.

Good luck.

I just replaced the color wheel on my samsung hln5065w. Picture is great but there is a shadow on the right side of screen from top to bottom. The shadow on the top of the screen is wider across the screen...

Its a Good Possibilty that its the New Color Wheel causing this,if the colors are not complete on the color wheel then that will be why you are seeing shadow on right hand side of screen.
I know I ordered color wheel for mine and had to send it back,it did the same thing.
I compared it to the old color wheel and the new one did not have Solid colors on it.

Can you see picture behind the shadow? or is it shadow and no picture?

Color wheel replacement

good times here--take the front and rear bezels off and remove the top cover. remove the power input board and power supply. next remove the metal shield covering the bottom of the projector to expose the main board. next, cut the ribbbon cable as close as you can to the color wheel. remove the color wheel leaving the cut ribbon behind. Now, carefully set the new color wheel in the general area and tape the new cable to the cut cable. Next pull the cut cable out of the main board paying careful attention to which way the cable was plugged in. Now pull the new cable thru and remove the tape and the old cable, plug it in, install the new colorwheel and put your projector back together with the exception of the front and rear, turn it on and make sure the color wheel spins, if it kind of just jumps, it means you plugged the cable in backwards. also when you test to see if it works, make sure the lamp door is shut so the safety switch is pushed in, otherwise the projector won't light.

Tv went grayscreen, flickering. turned off, then

When you had gray screen and flickering you had only one problem - color wheel. After "putting everything together" you have totally different problem, caused by multiple possibilities like: forgotten connectors, cut/jammed cables/wires, lamp not being inserted properly, lamp door not being set properly, disconnected color wheel, etc. Try to open rear cover and redo what you have done. Remove optical block, check everything visually and slowly put everything back. If still no luck - then only skilled TV repairman may (or may not) help.

Just changed the lamp in my samsung 4663w. lamp light blinks a while then all three blink. sound but no picture

hi, leaves only 3 options
1. color wheel not coming up to 6000 rpm`s
2. no ballast strike to lamp
3. lamp door safety switch in wrong position when door was re-attatched.
highly unlikely but not impossible u got a defective lamp, did your old lamp still come on? if so put it back in, if it lights up new lamp is bad, my money is on the color wheel if you installed lamp door correctly, gl, video-tek

Dark shadow about 4'' at top of screen of 56'' dlp samsung hlr5667

There is a piece connected to the color wheel assembly called a light tunnel. It is between the color wheel and optic assembly. There is 4 mirrors inside. One of them probably got dislodged when the wheel shattered. Sometimes they can be repaired using high temp glue or you may have to replace the tunnel.

Epson projector--no "EPSON" sign-on. Shows diagonal bands of yellow and greed in venetian blind fashion. Can lightning or surge do this? What's broken? Can it be fixed?

The problem is due to faulty color wheel, ballast, or ICs (capacitors) They all can be replaced. But they will have to be tested. Look at the color wheel to see if colors are faded or ran together. If the wheel spins, than the ballast is good. It is very common for the color wheel and capacitors to go out on these tvs.

Won't turn on

Make sure that you have the orange flat cable turned the right way when you plugged it in. I accidentally turned one the wrong way and that was the response I got. Hope this is all it was if this does not fix it I would measure the ballast and make sure the 200 or so volts is coming across.

Do you have the projector inside a hush box? If so, it could be too far back in the box. Readjust and see if that removes your shadow.
or
You may have a haze on your lenses. Have you tried cleaning your color wheel and associated lenses? This procedure is for the skilled since you must disassemble your projector. Keep in mind that the color wheel is VERY, VERY fragile. Use a lens cleaning agent or 91% isopropyl alcohol and q-tips. The agent must not leave a haze. Have plenty of time and patience since this may take you about an hour just to clean the color wheel. Did I mention that the color wheel is VERY fragile…
