Problem for Samsung HLN617W 61 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television

I have installed a new color wheel. When I put everything back together It was great. Unfortunately the safety switch had broken and I tried taping it in an on position. That worked, but after getting the TV back into its location, it now has a dark translucent diagonal shadow across approximately half the screen. It almost looks like something is either obstructing part of the lens or light source. Do you have any suggestions?

it is possible that when you changed the color wheel you damaged the light tunnel. depending on the model number this may be a replaceable part.early model tunnels are easy to change with no tunnel alignment problems but later models the tunnel is easy to change but almost impossible to align

Often a piece of foam, debris or such can get in between the lamp and color wheel which can cause the symptom your describeing.
