Watch cover cant get back cover on

I replaced the battery in my Timex Expedition watch and I can find no way to get the back cover on.

I am thinking I may have to lay the watch face down on a cloth covered hard surface & smack it with a hammer!

    This cannot be right.

How the heck can you get it back on?

I cannot get the back cover back on my Timex Expedition watch at all. This is ridiculous. It should easily snap back in but this is impossible. Is there a solution out there? Thanks

Line up the back as closely as possible to how it was when you removed it. (The cut-out notch goes where the winding knob is and the arrow points toward the upper-right, at a diagonal.)

Put the watch backside down (while keeping the back in place and lined-up correctly) on a strong table.  Press down ******* the front of the watch until all the sides snap into place.  It feels like you might BREAK the watch, but that is what it took to get the back on mine after fiddling with it for over half an hour!!

    What a pain!!!

I am having the same problem. I tried everything that was suggested here, but it still will not go back on. I will never buy another Timex watch.  I haven't even had this watch a year. This is the first time I had to change the battery. There was no problem getting the back cover off, but impossible to put it back on.

1)put a little silicon grease around the case cover 2)put cover back on the case 3)lay the watch on a hard surface spicifically on the edge of a wooden chair or bench and the face of the watch on your palm, the case cover is under and paded on the chair or bench. 4) now gently press the watch and it will snap.

With the back in position wrap the watch front and back in a paper towel doubled and place it in the jaws of a four inch C clamp and tighten slowly until you hear the click of the back snapping into place. Be careful not to disturb the rubber o ring gasket or you will lose the water resistance of the watch.

Jewellers have a special made press that inserts the case back in perfect alignment w/the case itself.
Any nice jeweller( a real one, not some rubbish like samules or some such chain etc.)
Try Rocco Manfredi 101 ashley down road, Bristol 0117 975 9752

You could also buy a proper watch, Timex are chinese made trash.

How do i remove the back to replace the battery on this watch

Watch backs are usually either push-fit and simply need to be levered off, or are twist-fit and need to be rotated off. If there are a number of indentations around the rim of the back then it is likely to twist off. You need to get a suitable tool or tools to remove the cover or you will damage the back of the watch. Check on amazon or ebay for watch repair tools. Getting the cover back on is usually harder with push-fit and is more likely to lead to damage without the correct tools.
Or take it to a watch shop and they will replace the battery for you!

I have an Relic Fossil Brand Watch and I took the back Cover Off and I cant Get the **** thing back on.. how do you put the back of it back on?...

try to press on as much around as you can then whatever area is still showing a gap gently push it on a corner of a desk ( be careful of crystal), but it sounds like you may not be able to get it back on. Watches need even pressure all the way around to put the backs back on this is done with a watch press. The watch press cups the crystal and applies even pressure to snap the back on. It sounds like you will have to go to your local jeweler. We use the watch press to put on about 75 percent of our backs! Fossil is especially known for difficult backs and crystals that easily break! although they are a nice looking watch!! hope this helps!!

You will probably need a watch press to get the back on. Call around at your local jewelers as they will have one if they carry watches.

Trouble replacing rear analog watch cover

mcdevito75 here, Replaceing that back cover can be a real pain. I think I have a tip for you. Place the cover only in the Frig. for about 15--30 minutes, the cold should shrink the cover just a bit so it may be easier to snap back onto the back of your watch.---------- OR, Make sure any cutout on the back of the watch is lined up with the stem, make sure any lip used to pry the back cover off the watch is also lined up with the case of the watch if need be. Place the back cover on the watch back, place the watch on a sturdy table, counter top etc. Crystal up, now with even, even pressure useing your palm, press down on the crystal, this should get the back cover to snap back on. Remeber even, even down ward pressure useing the flat palm of your hand on the crystal, press down slowly and the back cover should snap on. If not, visit a small watch repair shop in your area as they have a special pliers just for this job.

I took the back off a watch to change the battery now i cant get the back on

mcdevito75 here Look very closely at the back cover for anything that will line up with the case, as an example a little cut out in the cover for the stem (winder) and or any small indent in the cover and case or tab on the cover, line everything up carefully then place the watch face up on a sturdy table, countertop and with the palm of your hand press down evenly, this should snap the cover back on. If Not, see a small watch repair shop in your area as they will use a special pliers to clos the back cover.

mcdevito75 here, Look for any matching Slot or groove or tab in the cover and the caseing. Example, there may be a small cutout in the cover for the stem, make sure it"s lined up, place the watch on a flat sturdy surface crystal (glass) up with even, even pressure from the palm of your hand press down Evenly and the cover should snap shut, if not, see a small watch repair shop in your area for help.

I cant seem to get the back of the watch off. How do i change the battery in my Columbia watch.

Remove the back cover.

On some watches, the cover will pry off using a very small flat-bladed screwdriver or will have screws holding the cover on. On other brands the entire cover will unscrew. Examine the edge of the back cover. If there is one small depression along the edge of the cover then the cover will pry off. If there are screws present, the cover will lift off after the screws are removed. If the cover has a raised edge with flat edges opposite one another then the cover will unscrew.

Not enough information to help you at this time. You could try just searching the net using those numbers and "watch".

My watch needs a new battery.

There is a tool that you need that adjusts to the three holes or openings in the back of your watch and it just screws off. If you don't have access to the tool, simply take two push pins and CAREFULLY insert them into the openings and unscrew the back cover. Remember that it unscrews counter-clockwise.This will give you access to the battery simply take it out and go to the store to buy a replacement repeat the process to install the cover back on.
