This can be a few different problems it can be that the cable connecting your monitor to the graphics card is lose also it can be that the graphics card is shot, which is bad because you cannot repair that but you can try unscrewing the plastic part around the monitor off, then unscrew the monitor, and make sure the cable in the back is plugged in if its all plugged in, then your graphics card is broken and you cant change graphics cards, so you are out a laptop you can still plug in an external monitor to the back if your laptop has a vga port (the blue thing, like on a regular computer) it should have it, most laptops if not all do

It appears that the display has gone out in the computer. Sorry to say but you have two options.
1. You can take the computer to a computer repair shop and get a new motherboard put in.
2. You can go buy a new computer.
They both will cost about the same but it is more worth it to buy a new computer in my opinion. The reason i say this is originally i was thinkning that the LCD monitor in the laptop may have gone out but if it is not showing anything on an external monitor than the computer is not putting out any display at all.

First, confirm that it is the screen itself. Connect the video output to a known working monitor and then power on your Thinkpad. if the known working monitor behaves the same way you can rule out the laptop's monitor as the source of the problem. This may be the BGA, Ball Grid Assembly, leadless soldering problem related to video chips on the motherboard, but first test the monitors.

Have your laptop check up the technician, it has somethingt to do with your video card
