Question about Canon PowerShot A80 Digital Camera
I love my A80! However, periodically (and now more frequently) regardless of what is showing on the LCD display (and it always looks just fine in the LCD), the image that is recorded is totally white with just a shadow of the subject of the photo (almost like a white negative). It seemed to begin with just striped looking pictures which I thought might be damaged memory card, so I replaced that. Now instead of grainy/stripey pictures they are coming out almost white. But it does not happen all the time. Of the 15 shots I took tonight, all but one came out shadowy-white. Yesterday, everything worked just fine. I don't think it's the CCD problem since the LCD viewer works just fine. Thanks for your help!
This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Although it's not showing on the LCD, recommend contacting Canon anyways (it can't hurt). Please check the following two links for more info:
