F02 Code

F02 is a drain error in your Kenmore washer, if the unit is unable to drain then after 4 minutes it will display suds and then F02. The first thing that should be done is cleaning the drain hose and the drain pump filter, you can take out three torx screws from the bottom front panel and then clean the area completely, lift up the cap to clean the filter. If the error returns then check the drain pump if it is not working then replacing the pump is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

This helped my husband fix our washer. We had 5 baby socks clogging up the washer from draining. I guess we will need to use a laundry bag to wash little baby things.

just wanted to say thank you for the helpful advice! checked the filter/trap and it was clogged with soggy paper, candy wrapper and two coins! Also had bits of plastic from the laundry detergent measuring cup (the detergent bottle says to throw the cup into the wash to clean out the rest of the liquid, which I can see is bad advice). Hi, this advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model FRONT LOADERS displaying the “F21” error code.

“F21” is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a “SUDS” error may also be displayed. This may be an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1. First, attempt to unplug the washer for at LEAST 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code returns, proceed to step 2.
2. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
3. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
4. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump.
