I recently bought a dell Latitude D531 from a second party and when i try to power it up i get a screen that asks me for a passwrod or admin password before i can even do anything i was never given a password and when i tried to email them i got no response pls help me

In order to reset the bios password you will need to contact Dell Support . They will verify ownership of the system and then provide information to reset the bios.

Go to www.dell.com and check for driver downloads, the upgrade your after should be listed under video. Make sure you enter your model number and the operational system you are using, list that it is a Dell Latitude D531 and it should take you to a list drivers available for your model.
Contact Dell tech support 800-624-9896 (USA) confirm you are an authorized user of the system and they will assist with generating a master password, There is no universal password or jumper to manually reset it, you have to contact Dell.
