Question about Toshiba 24AF45 24" TV
You need the original remote controller to be able to switch input modes.Universal ones usually don't work. If you don't have the original remote and can't find it ever or if it is too expensive you can buy an rf modulator ( very cheap) and connect your dvd player, game console etc) to the modulator then connect the modulator to your antenna with a coax cable. This worked for me. It placed the connection to channel 4 and other cable channels are still working,
You can buy the RF Modulator from: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180299245670

I lost the remote to this TV as well. I tried two Universal remotes, neither of which would activate the menu window (no matter which buttons were selected). I spoke with a technician at Toshiba who indicated that there is no way to access the menu on this TV without the original remote control. It's simply a design flaw. There is no magical combination of buttons on the TV (volume, channel, etc.) that when pushed will activate the menu screen. You can purchase an original remote on eBay for about $20.

Universal remotes will change the input it just may not be an input button. Try a button that says TV/VCR or TV/VIDEO or even COMPONENT SWITCH. If not try using a different code with the universal remote, the one that you picked may not be the most suitable for your TV.
