Do you have other things in the environment that might be giving you problems. Bluetooth, some surveillance cameras, and 2.4 wireless phones can interfere. Sometimes changing channels on the access point or the unit can help them live together.

I use yahoo mail, and when I was checking my e-mails this morning I realized that all my previous e-mails in my inbox has gone. I haven't done any adjustment or delete them by accident

unfortunately this happens from time to time, you need to contact yahoo support but they will only look for emails that have disappeared within the last 2 days. they've lost my emails covering a 4 year period!! use a mail program like thunderbird to download the emails to your pc - note: only the inbox is downloaded

My Linksys router (wrt54g2 version 1) disconnects periodically so I have to unplug and plug it back in to reconnect. I recorded all the times and dates my Linksys router lost connection: March 22 6:37pm...

This problem can be a firmware related issue, firmware is the program running inside the router to correct the problem better if you do a firmware upgrade on it to resolve any other BUG that the router has , you can get the firmware from Linksys site. for the details way on how to do a firmware upgrade follow the steps from my TIPS.

Random disconnections, DNS/key port failure

I would guess from your desciption that the router is around 2 years old. What you are seeing are typical for a failing home router. There are a few things you can try such as installing updates but generally those won't help for long. I've tried several things but in the end I ended up replacing it with a new one, That is what I would reccomend doing.

see if there's an electrical component that may be to close to the router that may be causing the signal to be ruined. and try to set the devices further apart.

does it connect ok when you're connected with a wire (physically) to the router?

have you upgrade the firmware? the issue may be firmware related so it may be worth it to attemp to updated the firmware.. see here

good luck!

Router burnt out

If you reset both the computer and the router at exactly the same time it should work but if it doesn't you most likely need a new router. Hope this helped =)
