How should I wire my 3 subs to the 500/1 amp???????
How should I wire 3 "12 's to my amp. The subs are all wired together. So there is one speaker wire that supplies power to all 3 subs. Should I have the subs wired this way. Or is there a better way to wire my subs to optimize the power off the 500/1 amp?

First of all how many ohm's are each subwoofer rated at . Are the subwoofers dual voice coil or single voice coil. Once I know that I can help you. I think the JL amp is not recommended below a 2ohm load.

I am assuming these are subs, you didnt say, but that is my guess. do you want bass, or do you want to take it easy on your amp? do you have a terminal cup on your sub box, or just wires going into the box to the speakers? take it easy route: wire positive from amp to positive of one speaker, negative of amp to negative of the other speaker, with a jumper wire connecting the negative of the first speaker, to the positive of the second. more bass route: run seperate positive and negative wires to each speaker, making sure to maintain proper polarity.
First off excellent choice on audio equipment, i guarantee you won't be disappointed. So your subs are dual coil 2 ohms. So wire each individual sub in series. If you don't know what this means i'll explain. On each sub there are 2 sets of wire terminals. Connect a wire from the one set's - to the other set's +. Do this on both subs and you will have the coils wired in series making each sub 4ohms. Now to hook the subs together you'll need to wire them in parallel. Now since you have your coils in series, on each sub you have one + terminal and one - terminal left. So run a wire from the + terminal remaining on each sub, and run them to your amp. Splice the ends of the two wires together and plug them into the + speaker output of the amp. Connect the two negatives in the same way and plug them into the - port on the amp. You will now have your amp running at its desired 2ohms. When wiring this disconnect the fuse on your amp power wire to avoid short problems. And if you get confused at all, and aren't sure what to do, ask again don't guess, if its done wrong you could severely damage your equipment. Hope this helped, enjoy the bass...
you can run each sub at either 4ohms or 1ohm which means that two of them will run at either 2ohms or .5ohms....be careful how you wire them because most amps cannot handle .5ohms very well and might blow.....to wire them for 2ohms you will need to wire each sub the following way. they have two voice coils make a jumper wire connecting the negative on one coil to the positive on the other coil. what you are left with is a coil with an open positive and the other coil has an open negative. when both subs are wired like this connect the two positive terminals together (1 from each sub) and the two negative terminals together (1 from each sub) now the subs should be wired together at a 2ohm load. run the two positive wires into another combined wire which will run to the positive speaker terminal on the amp. do the same for the negatives
huge shared common space slot loaded box (size depends on sub 10", 12" 15" you need to clarify that please) the amp specs on earthquakes site say the phd5000 is rated at a max output of 5k watts at 1 ohm 3k watts at 2 ohm so, with 3 dvc 2 ohm subs you only have 3 options of which only 2 will be a usable solution:
1. 3- 2ohm dvc series at sub parralel at amp = about 1.33 ohms at the amplifier this is the best option to get the most power to the subs as each sub will produce a 4 ohm load then wire each one to the amp the amp sees 3 4 ohm parralel loads which = 1.33 ohm so based on the amp specs you would be close to 1200 watts per sub.
2. 3- 2ohm dvc wired in series at sub and all 3 subs series wired together very difficult to wireand will give you a 12 ohm load which is next to no power at all (not a viable solution)
3. 2- 2ohm dvc parralel wired to each other and then at amp the amp sees a 1 ohm load and makes 5k watts max but you can only (REREAD THAT LINE! ONLY USE 2 SUBS IN THIS WAY) WHICH GIVES THE MOST POWER BUT ONLY USES 2 SUBS
For each sub, tie the DVCs in parallel ("+"s together, then "-"s together). This will make the subs look like 2 ohms to the amp. Then, put one sub on each channel of the amp. That will put about 280W rms onto each sub, the max for the amp.
If what you're telling me is correct you're trying to drive a stereo sub -woofer with a mono amplifier. If so, that could be a bad situation for the amp, if the voice coils are not wired together correctly. Before we go too far, I have some questions I need answered. 1. Is the MA unit an M1889i? 2. Do you have the 4 terminals of sub-woofer tied together. For example the 2 positive terminals are tied together & the 2 negative terminals are tied together? 3.How do you supply 12VDC to the amp?

The 2500D has 2 "+" and 2 "-" power connections to help split the current between two smaller wires vs. one giant, hard to route wire. According the manual, for optimal performance, both "+" and "-" power connections should be utilized. They also recommend using 4AWG wire for these connections.
The 2 "+" and "-" speakers connections are only there to simplify the wiring of multiple speakers into the amp. Both "+" get tied together inside the amp, as do both "-" connections. In this case, with the dual 2 ohm voice coils on your 12" sub, you would wire one voice coil to one +/- set on the amp and the other voice coil to the other +/- set.
