Question about GE DCVH515GF Gas Dryer
I had a power surge and now my dryer is showing e61 and will do nothing when I push buttons. I have turned the breaker on and off and that will not reset it. Is there anything I can do to restart it without calling a repair service?

SOURCE: dryer internal breaker trips
If you are using dryer sheets in the machine the filter screen may be plugged and will have to be cleaned. You can check it by placing a bit of water on the screen if it beads and does not flow through then the screen is indeed plugged reducing air flow. There could be lint and build up in the dryer's internal ducting and sensors, the machine will have to be disassembled for a complete cleaning this will also reduce air flow and cause the machine to heat abnormally.

SOURCE: GE Dryer error code E61
I cant remember what e61 stands for off the top of my head but if u unplug the dryer take the top off you should find the tech sheet in it and it will have a list of error codes and faults if u find that write back with what e61 means if im not mistaken and i might be off of memory i think it had something to do with the control board

SOURCE: Dryer won't Start
the problem might be the start switch itself. if the switch is going bad it could have either a carbon buildup on the contacs preventing it from starting (unlikely) or the contacs are wearing out and it is more hit or miss if it will start. as time goes on the problem will get wose

Your dryer has a non-resettable "thermal safety fuse" part number 3392519 which stops the machine dead when the temperature near the heater gets too high. Typically a restricted vent system causes this so you definitely want to check that before replacing it. A failed control thermostat can also cause this so check the operating temp too.

SOURCE: no power
check the door switch which will not let dryer run if it is not depressed. a lot of times the holder for the door switch breaks. look for switch bracket holder with door open depress button and see if you hear a click. probably switch holder is broke. remove with power shut off
