Where are home fuses located on the kenmore dryer?

If you were told to check the home fuses its the circuit breaker for the house. If the house is older it may have a small circuit breaker just for the dryer. Otherwise open the circuit breaker for the house and look for the dryer fuse. Usually 2 20amp breakers together. Flip it off and push towards off a little more to reset than flip back on.

You have the wrong breaker You need to buy a breaker that pulls power on each side of the bus if it is not a single pole double trow switch it will not work on the box. It needs to get power from both buss bars. Go to a electrical warehouse to get the right one.

I have a whirlpool WED5300SQ0 dryer that is on a 30 amp circuit , it trips the breaker after about 15 min ,,,it has 10 gage wiring but it is an older house , the breakers look ancient..should i replace the...

If you don't have an AMP clamp to measure the amount of AC current draw. Then I would replace the breaker with a new 30amp. If the electrical panel is a sylvania or Zinco then that is most likely the problem! Those panels use the same breaker type and are terrible at having breakers going bad and tripping premature. If it is one of those type of breakers better dig deep in your wallet as those breakers run $1.25 to $1.50 per amp !

LER4634E WHIRLPOOL FRONTLOAD ELECTRIC DRYER WORKED GREAT

If you have a access to an AC voltmeter, measure the two slanted connections in the wall socket for ~220 volts. If near zero, measure at the load side of the dual breakers for the same voltage. If still at or near zero, one of the breakers has gone south. Replace the pair of breakers.
If you measured 220 volts as above, then the problem is within the dryer--probably a burned out heating element or open thermal fuse. Major tear-down to find and fix as the heating element is behind the drum.

Whirlpool electric dryer not drying

If the drier drum is still turning I would suspect a separate fuse is open for the heating element. Checking this may require openning the back cover. It may also be a defective or open heating element.

What size breaker is reommended for electric dryer 220V?

Electric dryer uses a double pole 30 Amp breaker. Check for a loose electrical connection. Check that the screws holding the wires on the breaker itself are tight. Next, check the screws for the ground / neutral in the breaker box. Next, check all the connections in the dryer recepticle (where the dryer cord plugs into the wall) Finally, check the connections where the cord connects onto the dryer. If all connections listed were good tight connections, replace breaker.

Whirlpool electric dryer keeps tripping main circuit breaker

First off, be sure the pigtail is wired correctly to the back of the unit. Black and red to the outside terminals, white to the middle, green to the frame or cabinet (should be a green screw close-by). If that is ok, you probably have an issue with possibly a bad pigtail, bad outlet, wiring issue, or possibly a bad circuit breaker or breaker box. Probably going to be more of a electrical problem than a appliance problem. Good Luck!!!!
