I am using an HP Photosmart 2610 All In One with Mac OS 10. 4 and the printing has become very slow. Turns out the default paper type is "HP Premium Plus". When I go to the Copies and Pages drop down menu to change the Paper Type option to Inkjet Paper, it won't accept the change.

Re: HP Photosmart 2610
Hmm..you may need to remove that premium plus option, through the system preferences folder. Then re install the drivers(get em here for updates) for the Inkjet printer. And be sure to only select the features you really want.

Here's the trick. It took me an hour to figure this puzzle out myself.
DO NOT select the Print icon at the bottom of iPhoto. Do NOT select Print from the File menu.
DO select EXPORT from the File menu.
Select the HP Photosmart Mac tab
Select HP Photosmart Print.app from the app selector.
Click the Export button.
HP Photosmart Print.app will load with a new print dialog box.
Make all necessary selections. This is where you can select the Photo Tray as the tray for the printer to take paper from.

Cartridges may give a very slow printing if internally damaged, or : When using colored paper in the all-in-one, printing or copying is slow. This issue is a result of the automatic paper type sensor misreading
the colored paper as photo paper. The print out takes longer because
the unit is printing in Best mode instead of Normal mode.
, point to
, and then click
Printers and Faxes
Right-click the appropriate all-in-one, and then click
tab and under
This sets the default paper type setting to Plain Paper.
