When I have my Garmin 1370T running on battery power and then power it from my car without turning it off the screen goes black. The unit is still working but there is no data showing on the screen. I have been resetting the following under "tools". The Navigation settings, the Display settings and the Map settings. This gets the unit to work properly again. Can anyone tell me why this happens and os there an easier way to correct it. I have tried to reboot with the power switch, doesn't work.

Did you try to perform a map upgrade to 2008? Turn on the Garmin and from the main menu touch the wrench,
then press Map, then look for Map info.


This will show the the current map version installed

Have you checked the wrench menu, map info, the preinstalled map should have a check mark, if not tap on the check box, it should now show a detailed map screen when you go back to the main menu and select show map.

Hi Bruce. The same thing happened to me . I called customer support
1-800-800-1020 and they were able to link ino my computer, go through it and into my GPS. Hopefully this will work for you!!!
