Have a 2.2 4 cylinder distributorless chevy egine , acts like it might be out of time .Is there any way to check it ?

The firing order for the 2007 Suzuki XL7 equipped with the 3.6L V6 engine is 1-2-3-4-5-6. In V6 engines, the cylinders are typically numbered consecutively from front to rear on each bank. Therefore, the firing order indicates the sequence in which the spark plugs fire in each bank of cylinders.

4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L and 8.1L Engines Firing order: 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 Distributorless ignition system (one coil on each cylinder)

Do a compression test.
Verify plug wires proper distributor cap to cylinder.
Check timing, physically set cylinder 1 TDC compression, then check rotor position relative to cap 1 position.
Check vacuum.

2 times one revolution will be one or 2 cylinders.

a haynes manual from a parts place will show you--or chec the condition of each plug wire-if one looks bad or falls apart--probly need to get all new wires /plugs

I would check the injectors for each cylinder, and check for spark in each cylinder.

If the injectors are not firing in all cylinders, it may be a computer.

If spark occurs in some but not all cylinders, it could be an ignition coil.

DISTRIBUTORLESS IGNITION SYSTEM General Information A distributorless ignition system is used on all 2.2L and 2.5L models. The system consists of a cam and crankshaft angle sensor, knock sensor, two ignition coils, an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and assorted sensors. The system control features a quick response learning control method that compares data stored in the ECU memory to data received from the sensors. Thus, the ECU constantly provides the optimum ignition timing in relation to output, fuel consumption, exhaust gas and other variables. The ECU receives signals from the airflow sensor, water temperature sensor, crank angle sensor, cam angle sensor, knock sensor and other various indicators to judge the operating condition of the engine. It then selects the optimum ignition timing stored in the memory and immediately transmits a primary current OFF signal to the igniter to control the ignition timing. The ECU also receives signals emitted from the knock sensor. Ignition timing is controlled so that advanced ignition timing is maintained immediately before engine knock occurs. Two ignition coils are used, one for the No. 1 and No. 2 cylinders, and one for the No. 3 and No. 4 cylinders. A simultaneous ignition type is employed for each bank of cylinders. This eliminates the distributor and achieves maintenance free operation. Ignition control under normal conditions is performed by the ECU measuring engine revolutions. Using the data it receives, the ECU decides the ignition timing according to engine operation. Ignition control under starting conditions is set by the ECU at 10°BTDC.

To avoid confusion, remove and tag the spark plug wires one at a time, for replacement.

The 3.5L (VIN H) engine's unique ignition system has the ignition coils directly over each plug. No spark plug wires are used.
If a coil is replaced on any of the 3.1L, 3.4L or 3.8L engines, it may not be numbered, as is the factory coil. For this reason it is imperative that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes in your guide to reflect how your engine is wired.

The firing order for the 3.1L VIN M, 3.4L VIN E, 3.4L VIN X and 3.5L VIN H engines is 1-2-3-4-5-6. The right bank cylinders are on the cowl side (rear) of the engine compartment and are numbered 1,3,5, left bank cylinders on the front side of the vehicle, are numbered 2,4,6.
The firing order for the 3.8L VIN K and 3.8L VIN 1 engines is 1-6-5-4-3-2. Starting at the front of the engine, cylinders in the left bank are numbered 1,3,5 and cylinders in the right bank are numbered 2,4,6

Ok this may be something smal that may be simple to fixs; your plugs are in the wrong cylinder?

Check Your gap size .060 (In thousandths of an inch)

Im not sure of the size of engine please look below for your make?
