WBSR3140D5W washer will not automatically advance past the drain cycle (at all settings, gentle, normal, heavy duty) unless dial is manually advanced to the spin cycle. Will advance if machine is shaken (tipped back an inch and allowed to drop forward. If htis is the lid safety switch, how is it adjustible?

Saragary,
It sounds to me like the safety switch for the washer lid is faulty or just out of adjustment (you'll find an arm sticking out of the lid that corresponds to a similarly shaped but larger hole in the jam of the lid and that is where the switch actuator should reside).
Or, your timer might be at fault, since it completes cycles once you manually advance to the next one.
Eliminate the safety switch as the possible fault before moving on to the timer itself, as the timer is more costly.
Good luck.

When washer done rinse cycle lights flash and washer stops doesn't rinse and spin

Hello
Try reseting the machine.Unplug power for 60 seconds.
Plug back in,then turn knob to reset. Then try another load of wash or finish the one that is stuck before rince cycle.

It is possible the control timer is going bad.

The rinse and spin cycles never end

I have seen this often on another brand. Once it starts malfunctioning on the rince/spin cycle, the boars needs replacement.

Washing machine will fill up with water for the rinse cycle and then it just shuts off.

if you dont have a soak fascility, then your board is the issue. There is no interlock during the rince cycle to inhibit the machine from running when full. Funny enough, when i find boards have gone faulty, it is often on the rince cycle.(various other brands).

My Indesit Washer/Dryer repeatedly (but not always) gets stuck on the initial water collection part of the wash cycle. It makes a sound like water is filling (or draining) into the machine, there is water...

Pressure switch is likely clogged/full of sediment.

Change it.

Whirlpool Washer will not progress to the rince cycle.

that is either a problem with the timer , or with the cold water hose at the back of the machine, see the following:

I quote from : The cycle doesn't advance

The cycle doesn't advanceWhen the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It'sthe timer, if your washing machine fills with water and beginsagitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spincycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • Itmay be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills withwater, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinsewater. See There's no cold water.

Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x
