I have a Bose 321 system and with all outputs the sound from one speaker stops after about an hour of play. the sound starts crackling too after about an hour of play. after i disconnect and reconnect the acoustimass cable the system resets and works fine again for an hour. what do you think the problem is.? my system is about 5 years old.
do you think its a cable problem because it works fine forand hour and also once i reconnect it. do you think it could be some component inside maybe heating up or something ?do you think its a cable problem because it works fine forand hour and also once i reconnect it. do you think it could be some component inside maybe heating up or something ?

hi, u have to change the digital out setting of ur blueray player. change the audio output priority from HDMI to optical coaxial. surely u will get audio from bose. ok
The Bose® 3·2·1 GSX Series III DVD home entertainment system
puts you at the center of exciting home theater with just two visible
Gemstone® speaker arrays and a hideaway Acoustimass®
module. Setup is simple because, unlike traditional five-speaker
surround systems, there are no center or rear speakers. An elegant media
center features a progressive scan DVD/CD player with an HDMI output
and AM/FM tuner. You'll enjoy vivid detail in your movies and sports
with video resolution up to 1080p over HDMI.
You should be able to connect the bose directly from the cable box. You also can connect from the audio output of the TV itself providing it has an audio output. If all eslse fails you can use the headphone output from the TV to the input of the Bose system
if you are using a hd reciever make sure the audio output goes directly to the bose system... if you do not have an hd reciever make sure its audio out on the television that you are using if you do have it hooked up right make sure the bose 321 is on the right input such as audio in!!!
Hi, sounds like the centre front speaker is disconnected. Check the wiring on that, if all is good there then a fault most likely with the amp. To make sure try connecting a different speaker to the centre channel just for test purpose to eliminate a speaker/cable fault. Best of luck
If it's an original 321 system (series 1) then it has an audio output on the back. (via RCA jacks)
You would still need an amp or receiver to connect the speakers to.. (unless they're powered speakers)
If it's a 321 series II or 321 series III- it does not have an audio output.
If the system has a DVD tray right in the middle of the media center, then it's a series 1.
Otherwise, you'd have to get a 1/8 splitter to come from your Mac's headphone output. (still- you will need an amp/receiver or powered speakers to have both 'rooms' playing the same thing from your computer)
That sounds like an internal fault on your Bose system.
Leave the Bose unplugged from power and from computer for one hour, to get rid of electrostatic charges accumulated inside capacitors. If that does not get rid of the problem, then there is an internal fault, either a short on speaker wiring, or a fault on the internal amp circuit board.
I am about to go through the same process. I have a Bose 321, and am on the verge of getting a HDTV. From what I can figure, the Bose can play a dvd and input it to the HDTV via video and audio output plugs off the back of the Bose to the audio/video input jacks on the back of the new HDTV. I think individual cables will have to be run for each. They usually are red or white, sometimes green or blue. I am sure everyone has seen these in their life. The Bose 321 technology only had what was called an S-Video cable output for the best picture, which is how my current tv gets it's Bose signal, but now HDMI seems to have superceded S-Video. Therein lies an obstacle to be overcome.
