Question about Frigidaire 5 cu. ft. / 142 liter Chest Freezer FFC05C2A

Kenmore Upright Freezer Model 2539252110

My freezer appears to be working but it makes a constant clicking noise ( relay energizing?) after I manually defrost it. When it has a build up of frost it doesn't seem to do it. I don't want all the frost on there because it is less efficient that way right? ...but then after I defrost it it seems to want to cycle something on..or off constantly. Like I said it gets cold and keeps things frozen but something doesn't seem right.

Constant clicking, sounds like a compreesor trying to start itself, you might geta way with replaving hte starting device for compressor, sometime s a bad compressor will burn out a starting device, checl your warr papers, most compressors had afull 5 year warr

My upright freezer works great but it makes a clicking noise like every thirty seconds or so.

These are the parts that would make a clicking noise. it is up to you to pin point where it is coming from:
compressor
timer
icemaker
fan

ok try to pin point if the clicking is coming from the inside or the outside
you can go to sears.com hit the parts link then enter the model number. you can view a diagram and it will show you where the parts are at

hope this helps

Picked up used chest freezer...plugged in and briefly clicks...I can hear it energized for about 5 seconds then quits....it then repeats this cycle. It was on its side when delivered

Try to replace the compressor relay (most of the times problem) ,but if still doing the same clicking noise , the problem is in the compressor.

MAKING A LOUD CLICKING SOUNDS

Hi, I am not familiar with this model but the noise sounds like a relay clicking at the compressor. Is the sound coming from the outside in the back?
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

This clicking noise is a bad relay.

Upright freeze made a popping noise like a thermostat

If you heard the noise at a fairly routine rate and time it was probably the defrost timer motor. Locate it and you should be able to engage it manually. It is a plug and go part to replace. Be sure to take the old one along with the make n model # with you to the parts house!!

Kenmore Upright Freezer Works Sometime

try a new start relay and overload kit specifically for the make and model freezer you are working on. if compressor can be seen ,the numbers on it can be used to get correct oem start cap, relay ,and overload. if your unit is having starting problems that will usually fix it. if however, the stat is failing to bring it on a new stat is called for. but it sounds like it is having starting problems since you said it was off a long while then still struggled on the overload to start then finally did. if the new start components don't work then new freezer time. compressor replacement is to expensive anymore. good luck
