Using Windows 7 Get msg. If Disk is ungormatted you need to format it.

Windows 7 does this to many drives whether it needs formatting or not.

Right click on the cd/dvd select properties see what options are available you might select customize option restore to defaults then click apply.

Hope this helps.

DELL INSPIRON 1545 (Windows 7) My laptop is displaying the message below when switched on: Internal hard disk drive not found. To resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive No bootable devices...

It seems that the Hard Disk is disconnected from it's connectors
It needs to be fixed and installed correctly.
To do that, there are screws in the back, remove them and disconnect the hard disk, and reconnect, fix it correctly.
If it's difficult to you, go to technician to do that.

Please, Tell us your results.

When i push copy on my DVD burner it says,Target Overflow, what do that means becouse it wont let me burn nothing its a[ TEAC 1 1 DVD/CD duplicator]

It happens to me also ALL the time with mine. I have a 7 disc duplicator machine I do for weddings and special events. And it's a real pain and costly to have that come up when you need the project done soon. My solution is to change the brand on the master disc. Burn another copy of the master disc on your computer to another brand and then use that brand as the new "master" in the duplicator. (1 sollution)

"Target Overflow" basically means that either sometimes the master disc has too much information on it to burn than the disc you want to copy can hold, or sometimes a CD may be in by mistake instead of DVD. If you have a Dual layer DVD disc you want to make copies of and you only have the basic 4.7GB standard DVD blank's not enough storage space on the disc to burn so you will see that error also. It should really say "not enough space to burn) lol..but I guess that's asking too much.

Sometimes all is correct with the DVD size and it'll come up for no reason (usually the master disc is still spinning and hasn't stopped but you've already pressed the "Copy" button, it's not "ready" so an error of "target overflow" will come up)

I've had mine for 6 years so I've done alot of testing and trial and error to come to the above conclusions.
I find that these brands work for the best "thorough" burns.

Put in new harddrive, but the recovery disk gives me error message 105.

If your "new" hard drive is really brand new from the factory, it needs to be partitioned and formatted before it will accept any software, even from a recovery disk. You can do that either with a slave cable via usb port using the "computer" "manage" function on a working computer, or use a boot CD to partition and format the drive on the computer getting the new drive. Then boot using the recovery disk and follow on-screen instructions.

Drive manufacturers save money by not preparing the drive, but it forces a user to know how to prepare it. Hence your difficulty getting the recovery disk to work. Just partition and format and you'll be ready to "recover".

Double check the brand name of your Combo/DVD drive. Try to check the specification of that brand and model of your optical drive.

Actually there are such things that your Combo/DVD drive could not burn. However DVD drives has an option to burn with DVD-R/W and DVD+R/W.

In this case if your optical drive able to burn either of the two different types of disc (which is DVD-+R/W), try another brand of DVD disc like Memorex, TDK and Sony or some other brand which is/are not generic.

Or in one case there would be a big possibility due to the Burning Software that you are using that changes the settings in the registry for your optical drive, have to follow these steps carefully.

1. Click on START then go to RUN and type regedit then click OK.

2. Under "Registry Editor" screen have to select "HKEY LOCAL MACHINE" by clicking the "+" sign.

3. Under HKEY LOCAL MACHINE select "System >> CurrentControlSet >> Class and select the first {4D...} then highlight the selection.

4. After highlighting the selection of the first {4D....} select or highlight on the Lowerfilters and Upperfilters in the right pane window and have to those two (2) filters then have to exit out on the Registry Editor.

5. Restart the laptop and try to burn a blank disc that is not being used previously.

Hope these things help you to determine. Thank you.

Dvd-r wont burn error message says "power calibration area error - medium error" used to work because i have burned many dvd -r sony discs. but all of a sudden it just quit i have been trying to fix...

Have you started a new batch of discs?
This error could you get when the drive and disc are not compatible.
So please look for new firmware for your drive or try another brand of discs.
