Toshiba satellite 1955 S801 keyboard stop working...

I tried to press F8 while reboot as I was advised. however, that didn't work. Is there any way that the keyboard was locked? (my daughter was playing with my computer...she is 2 so doesn't know any better...)

Why has my mouse stopped working, also the touch pad on computer has stopped?????

Janice, This is info from Tomsguide.com
1- Turn off computer, disconnect the power cord, remove the battery.
2- Press the Power On button for 10 seconds
3- Replace battery and/or connect power cord.
4- Turn On computer + immediately press F2 key repeatedly
5- Press F9 then press Enter
6- Press F10 then press Enter
May have virus or corrupt driver, run your anti virus and try reloading divers for mouse and touch pad, you may have to use system restore to an earlier date when thins were working OK.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Keyboad does not work after formating C drive, need to take out solder in Cmos battery, or reset cmos password Mother board #s PHRA REV:1.0 2011-01-31, also Hann Star MV-4 94V-0

Formatting the drive will not stop the keyboard from working. If the keyboard won't respond with the dos notes after pressing F8 at start up, I would replace the keyboard.

I want to restore a toshiba 1955-s801 to factory condition, it has windows xp

try F8 when starting the machine and see if is has an option to re-install the original software - they sometime ghost it to a hidden partition. Else you need to use the/a compatible restore disc

Several keys no longer work

It's almost always hardware related. If it's an older laptop and it's not worth fixing then the easiest work around is a cheap usb keyboard.

If you do want to fix it then I'd recommend pulling the bad keyboard off and purchasing a replacement from ebay.

Best of luck.

Windows not showing on screen / just get a medium blue background

this problem may be cable inside on the "bend' where cable comes from screen side to the other computer half. replacing that cable should fix problem.
