1) Your disc is dirty, damaged, or scratched. To fix this just clean it gently with a wet cloth, if it still doesnt work you can take it to a game store to have it cleaned there. It is possible that it is scratched to much and is unable to read at all.
2) Your Playstation 2's reading laser has become damaged or dirty. I suggest blowing air through the system with your mouth or preferably a can of compressed air which can be purchase at most retail stores.
Try with any audio disk, if it does not read, then it might have lens error. There can be more then lens problem, including motor, lens ribbon etc. If you do have a cd lens cleaner, try to clean the lens and check again. If problem dosn't goes, contact your nearest dealer, the device is very complicated for you to service. Thanks
If you've had this unit apart recently open it back up and make sure ALL ribbon cables and wiring harnesses are slotted correctly. I had an error code problem and it turned to be an incorrectly seated ribbon cable.
If that doesn't fix the problem try formatting the drive, it could be a corrupt file on the hard disk. Make sure you back up anything you want to save on a flash drive first.
your ps2 lens may be damage.lens need cleaning or lens preset will be wrong posion.if you know how to open ps2 cover then you can try turn preset to right position otherwise you have to repair.sorry for bad english.
But for the solution , if your console is modded for playing pirated games, then any of the soldered wire through the modded chip may be disconnected or may be loosen. The soldering sometimes gets off the connections(the soldering guy may be ignorant) . So check your ps2.
Sounds like the ribbon cable is ether damaged or not in the slot all the way.. that clicking sound you hear is common after extended use, all mine make the same sound ..try opening it up one more time and check the ribbon ends i know it's a pain but might be worth your time. pulling them out too hard can damage the ends.some time's putting them they seem like there in all the way but it might not be in straight.REMEMBER BENT FOLDED FLAT CABLES = problems.
Re order the optical carrier ribbon, form the net and also make sure the optical laser is the right class, amp. Volt and resistance as the normal one. If you put in a different 'class' laser the device could be more damaged... hopefully not. Now your warranty is out the window as you have opened the box yourself. Firstly the easier thing is to buy a whole new blue ray device, it should be a Sony, (no surprise) just quote the serial number and device name on the web or on the phone and volla! Install the device and everything should be working. Good luck.
PS3 is The amazing device by sony but it has some common problems like Disc read error, video problem etc.... Good news is that these all
problems can be repaired with the help of DIY Guides, one such guide
