Want to format my destop - Computers & Internet

    Please clarify. Do you want to make it empty so that you can give it away, or, do you want to format it to start over? Formatting will not remove the data so that it cannot be retrieved. Formatting will prepare the drive to have a new operating system put on it.

I had a laptop with vista and when i plugged in the 750gb hard drive there was no problem now however i have a destop with 2000 and the seagate free agent hard drive won't show up anywhere and i have tried...
Do you need to patch Win 2000 to read and NTFS drive? Don't think FAT32 goes above about 80GB, so a 750GB drive is presumably formatted to NTFS.
