When we put on the air conditioner it shows F1 or ERROR on the window. What is the problem?

Hi Charity, F1 is a communication fault, I hope this helps......... CHEERS..
1?Check whether the connection of the outdoor unit and indoor unit is one to one, otherwise connect the L, N and communication line of the indoor unit and outdoor unit one to one.
2?Measure whether the voltage between the zero line and the communication line is 18V-30AC half-wave signal, check whether the communication circuit on the indoor and outdoor electric control board has been damaged, otherwise replace it.
3?Check whether the LED on the outdoor power board has been on, otherwise replace the electric control board.
4?Check whether the unit is abnormal caused by the external interference, if it is, then find the interfering source, and removes it.

Why does the control board on this Sanyo CL2472 Split unit keep going out? 3rd one appearantly I replaced the most recent one 2 months ago

•Poor ground, at unit or disconnect/breaker panel
•Shorted wiring from I.d. to o.d. unit not shorting out all the time,
I've had a o.d. fan motor take out a couple of boards. •The motor was "stiff" to turn and the high resistance during operation damaged the board
•Ive learned anything, wiring or load, connected to them over-engineered circuit boards can damage them. Get a good voltmeter you trust. Certainly get a set of small leads for your meter due to the cannon connector sizes. Call tech support and write down everything you can. Ask for resistance values for loads and circuits. Start with the o.d. fan motor, I always do. Took me 3 warrantied boards before I found it BUT, I only found it when I had a new motor next to the old motor and I spun it. Could feel the bad was Stiff compared to the new motor. And start troubleshooting in the area that's connected to faulted area on the board. Tech support can help there. Work safe!

Amana ptac ac turn on runs short time on cool and go to fan mode warm air.

If this unit has the old style control with the knob instead of the digital control panel
then I would suspect this first. This is the first component to fail on these units. I have
replaced two already and the kit has good instructions and all components.
Takes approximately an hour to do and mount the new sensors. (The transformer is
hidden beneath the sheetmetal just below the control board). You should be able to order this kit through any appliance parts store for around 175 dollars versus almost
800 dollars for a new PTAC. Hope this is helpful.

The remote does not work. how can I fix that? Thank you

First check the battery in the remote. If the battery is bad change it.

2nd is make sure the ribbon connector from the control panel window is connected to the main board.

3rd make sure the remote is not cracked or damaged. If it has been dropped the tranmitting window can be broken. Check to see if it is loose. If it is loose you will have to replace the remote.

4th.. sadly is replacement of the entire main control assy.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Bryant-Carrier Furnace Fan Stays On

I suspect a bad fan relay or bad fan control. Maybe the longer the control or relay is in the on position the more chance of it sticking on.

Unit will not turn on

I have two of these units (actually it is my sister and brother in law's) but they come to me to fix stuff.
Last year they came to me with this unit not working. No indication of power on the display. I diagnosed it down to the PWB Assmebly, Main. I believe they are referring to it as a Power printed circuit board (part #6871A20271A). The new board worked for about 4 months and then quit in the same manner. Also, the second unit quit in the same manner also indicating the circuit board is bad.
I don't want to throw a board at it till I know why they are burning out. Also, want to try to diagnose the board to component level ($33.28/board last year). Let me know if this helps if you have the same symptoms?
You can replace the board but my experience says it will only last for a short time till we find the real cause (Sears must know this problem exist).

Random "Cracking" Noise

Its refrigerant gas has leaked out so ice is forming on the evaporator which breaks and causes this cracking sound. The same is resulting in less cooling as well. Get the refrigerant gas pressure checked and fixed.
