Depends on which engine you have

the simplest way is to follow the largest vacuum line from the main vacuum port

PCV Basics
PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation.
All car engines have a PCV valve and it is located on top of the motor's valve cover. There is a vacuum line attached to it. It pulls out of the valve cover and if you shake it, you should hear a marble knocking inside it. If you shake it and don't hear anything, it's bad. It costs less than 5 bucks to replace.

Location
* 4.0L is located in the valve cover near the brake booster
* 5.0L is located behind the intake manifold (engine rear)

NOTE-Most people that are asking actually want to know not only where is it but also how do you get at it to replace it.

Often answers say that you need to dismantle the intake manifold to get to it.
This is a major and unnecessary approach, for example, on the 2000 Explorer with a 5.0 V8

Below is an additional suggestion on how to access a PCV valve on an 2000 5.0 V8 Explorer

The PCV valve is on the rear of the intake manifold (the intake manifold is also on top of the crankcase so PCV valve has direct access to crankcase)

To replace valve and/or its bushing:

  • Disconnect one battery terminal, unbolt/unplug the PCM cable (Powertrain Control Module connector located on the firewall) and firewall ground connection, depress underneath tab and slide the main cable connector (located to the right of PCM connector) off its mount.
  • Move the cables to the right and now you can easily reach down behind the intake manifold to the PCV valve
  • Service valve and its bushing if needed, reverse actions to reassemble
Hope this helped (remember comment and rated this). Good luck.

SOURCE: 1998 Ford Explorer sport 4.0L 4x2 PCV Valve Location

the pcv is located on the rear(firewall) of the drivers side valve cover.turn counterclockwise and pull to remove be careful there are 2 small tabs inside the pcv hole in the valve cover(can feel with small finger) this is to hold valve in place so it wont leak.if you have a oil leak at the pcv a quick fix is to put a small amount of silicone around the pcv o-ring and install.wait hours for silicone to set up.

It is located at the back of the engine near the fire wall. It is gray with a T connector at the top with two hoses coming off of the T and going forward into the intake manifold.

so the pcv valve is on the driver's side of the engine master cylinder this is the back firewall. and if you look real close you can see it it's that little blue piece of plastic. that is the actual pcv valve so from the front of the engine you want to bring your arm.

Pvc valve on a ford 2001 explorer sport trac 4.0sohc v6 ware is the location of valve?

The PCV Monitor consists of a modified PCV system design. The PCV valve is installed into the rocker cover using a quarter-turn cam-lock design to prevent accidental disconnection. High retention force molded plastic lines are used from the PCV valve to the intake manifold. The diameter of the lines and the intake manifold entry fitting are increased so that inadvertent disconnection of the lines after a vehicle is serviced will cause either an immediate engine stall or will not allow the engine to be restarted.
