Question about Pentax Optio S5z Digital Camera
My Pentax Optio S5z locks itself somehow. Before it usually unlocked on it's own also. Now it is stuck on LOCK and I am not able to delete pictures, or use the MENU or MODE buttons. I am able to take pictures however. How do I Lock/UNLOCK this camera?????
I had the same problem with the exact same camera (Pentax Optio S5Z) that happened the same way. I searched everywhere on the web and finally found this post that didn't have a solid solution. So I started experimenting with different button combinations and finally figured it out.
Hold the OK button while turning on the camera. The screen should indicate that it is in audio record mode. Now press the Menu button and use the navigation keys to find and execute the system reset option.
After turning it off and back on it should function normally.

Is the slide switch on the side of the card in the unlocked position? If so, try this...remove the card and the battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.
