I had the same problem but the simplest thing to do is either to re-insert the battery or restore default settings

Take a q-tip and put lens cleaner (windex) and clean off the laser lens in the umd drive. at the front on the umd drive there is a little black button of some sort that u can push down to see if the laser works now. also check and see if the thing that spins the game is spining

I had the same problem just a few days ago. Today I was reading up on using the usb to charge my PSP and it said to do hard reboot: restart psp and press (R) lever while rebooting and would you know.... it worked. I am now able to play games now. I hope this works for someone else.

Psp problem

if it doesnt read the disk, you may want to open it up (but voiding the warranty) and clean the UMD drive.
if it doesnt read just one UMD,it might be the disk.
if cleaning the UMD drive doesnt work, you may have to get a new drive,or a new psp.

Sony psp

have you tried various disks? certan disks may either be scratched or dusty so you coul take a can of compressed air and ust out both some umd's and the umd tray of the psp. also, if you're usuing a custom firmware, you may find it will work once you revert to an official firmware
