Question about Panasonic TH-50XVS30U 50 in. Plasma HDTV
This morning when turning on the tv, a thin, black horizontal line appeared across the screen about 1/3 of the way down. It also appears when watching a dvd, so I know it's the television. Any ideas what this is and if it can be fixed without calling an expensive tech?
Unfortunately the panel is bad. I've worked on a number of these panels to know that symptom. I checked with panasonic and the warranty is one year parts and labor. you may be able to get panasonic to fix it if you still have warranty (purchased within 1 yr.) or check with your state's implied warranty. you might qualify for warranty repair under this implied warranty. call panasonic when you find out about the state's rules.
