I just installed new windows.I lost all my cd driver.I found vga driver and i downloaded it but it's not working on my system...my notebook is compaq presario v2000..

Opertaing system not found

Your hard drive may be faulty, this is why the Windows operating system not found.
Go into the BIOS and see if the hard drive is detected, if not reseat the hard drive and boot up again.
If the Windows operating system not found then most likely the hard drive is faulty and to get the Notebook working again, replace the hard drive, install Windows on the new hard drive plus the Compaq Presario 1692 device drivers and your programs.

You can download the device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure
you select your model laptop and the Windowsdrivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download thedrivers: -

Pick latest and up to date drivers for PCI Modem, Video Controler etc at that HP web page and installed them.

Windows does not carry all device drivers. Go to the laptop manufactures website click support and then drivers find your model and download the correct driver for your system. Not all manufactures share drivers with Microsoft this has always been an issue. You should have received a driver resource CD when you bought it new. If you still have that cd all your drivers will also be on that not your operating cd.

Try the compaq site.
if not did you have any restore cd's that came with it.
