Question about Washing Machines
Appliance: hotpoint Aquarius 1100 WD61P (analogue) washer dryer.
Problem: Motor sparking and keeps stopping.
1) Does this sound like carbon brushes need renewing?
2) How do I tell what type of motor I have (GDP / FHP)?
3) Do I need to remove the motor to renew the brushes?
4) I am trying to remove the motor and need to stop the whole lot moving to undo the bolts.
Any advice would be appreciated.
You seem to know what your doing. yes you do have to remove the motor in order to remove those carbon brushes, while your at it, you can also adjust the screwing/bearings of the bolts to hinder the machine from moving a lot.
