PPDVDR3570H: We also have a Panasonic LCD Television with Freeview combined The philips recorder works well with the normal 1 to 5 channels but I seem unable to record any of the freeview channels. Is there any way I can connect the varius cables to allow me to record them. I understand if I had a freeview box I could connect to that first but my freeview is part of the television itself. Can you please help Thank you.

I am not quite sure what you mean by ( Must have a recording facility first)I have a philips HDD & DVD player /recorder DVDR3570H, what more of a facility can one have?

  • lenmoody Mar 16, 2008

Thanks for that info.Would that mean using a scart lead from the recorder on EXT2 to the TV scart socket AV2 ? and would the normal antenna-in remain with the recorder socket or change to the TV first?

  • lenmoody Mar 16, 2008

Thank you for your assistance I will try to connect as you have said and hope that it works. Will let you know soon.

  • lenmoody Mar 16, 2008

I have tried all connection as suggested but with no luck the DVDR 3570H would seem not acceptable to the Panasonic LCD via the Q Link on the scart sockets either AV1 or AV2
My recorder works very well on the normal analgue channels. The only way I can see this working on a digital signalis via an old digy box. What do you think I am now lost to no what else to do?

  • lenmoody Mar 16, 2008

I seem to have tried all connections now to obtain digital recordings from my PilipsDVDR3570H recorder via my Panasonic TX-32LMD70A television with inbuilt Freeview but without success. I am lost to know where now to go if anywhere, if you can help please do. It would appear that it can only work with the old Diggy box type being connected first to the recorder and Aerial cable

Thanks for your assistance. It would seem I have had the connections right all along but did not understand the recording method via the (record from external devices)e.g Press Cam on the remote press +/- repeatedly to select the input channel EXT1 or EXT2 then press record. All seems well at this time.Thank again

You need to connect freeview scart cable out to recorder scart in, then recorder out to tv, then set recorder on av channel (channel 0 on some model) It is done.

    In other words:

    start from freview box

connect aerial in box and a scart cable to freeview output.

connect other end of scart cable coming from freeview into one of philips recorder input scart ports at the back (one with written in or input or av in).

Use now a different scart cable to connect the recorder to tv

this should go on tv output(or tv /out/av out ) on recorder to scart on tv.

Set recorder to channel 0 when recording (sometimes called av channel) and the trick is done.

    regards

If your panasonic has freeview capability is even easier.
Connect it to recorder on tv socket with scart.
Set recorder to AV channel (channel 0 , L1, AV1 etc. depending on model).
    It will record

Here is manual, on your recorder . The scart channel are called EXT1 EXT2 . use the scart channel corresponding to the socket you used to connect tv. TV must be on or in standby to record.
It will record from last channel you were watching on freeview.
I do not know if your tv has a programmable timer for freeview, If it has you can even program which freeview channel to record.

It is possible to record a Digital Channel using your Panasonic TV's DVB Tuner instead, as all Panasonic DVB TV's output a recordable Digital signal via a rear Scart Socket, usually AV2. (Panasonic LCD & Plasma models may provide additional AV recording options switchable via Menu), while allowing you to watch any alternative Analogue TV channel or vise-versa.
Timer recordings can also be set using the TV's built-in timer to control 'Q-Link' (Next View Link) or 'External Link' enabled DVD's & VCR's.

The only requirement is the DVD Recorder or Video Tape Recorder has a Scart 'Input' socket.

Sir for recording yoy must have a recording facility first

Posted on Mar 16, 2008

in your TV itself you have a facility to connect it to your recorder sir.

see the TV manual for that type of cable to be used.

this cable is not provided with the TV./

you will have to buy that outside separately.

How to retune model no. 26PF7521D/10 television

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

Connect philips dvdr80 to intigrated freeview tv

Solved the problem by connecting the freeview box back into the dvd recorder. Apparently because the dvdr was made before tvs with integrated freeview, it can only recieve decoded signals from a freeview box, ie analog

Dmr-es10 dvd recorder - cant get the machine to record digital channels form tv

Channels 1-5 are I believe for Analogue reception. To record from my digital Freeview box, I'm plugged into SCART port 2 (bottom most port on right hand side of machine as you look at it from the front). Use your remote to change the channel to A2 with the <CH> rocker button just above the video+ button on the controller. This will then record whatever channel your freeview box is set to - the only pain is you can't watch a separate channel whilste recording.

Kind Regards

Wharfedale DVDR24HD250 DVD Recorder When set up will not find any programmes on Automatic Programme Search (APS)

Products such as this will use an internal tuner to tune channels, this tuner will not detect your televisions freeview stations, to record from your television, connect scart out from tv to the scart in on the recorder, then select the scart A/V channel, use the television to select the channel you want to record, you will not be able to record 1 freeview channel and watch another freeview chanel as you only have 1 digital tuner (in the television) the recorder does not have freeview built in.. hope that helps

Can't tune stations from freeview box to DVDR3380/5

You can only record freeview channels through your box.

Assuming the digi-box has two scart sockets, connect as follows:

  • Scart 1 or TV scart of the digi-box to the TV.
  • Scart 2 or VCR/DVD scart of the digi-box to scart 1 of the DVDR3380.
The TV aerial should already be connected through the digi-box and DVDR3380 to the TV

To record from the digi-box, select AV1 / E1 / EXT1 on the DVDR3380
If you are doing timer recordings, you will also need to leave the freeview box on the channel you wish to record, or set the freeview box timer.
