Canon rebel t1i eos 500. After I shoot a picture my camera quits taking photos and reads "Busy" Why is my camera doing this and how can I correct the problem. My camera has only been used a handful of times.

It means that the transfer is in process. It's letting you know that you shouldn't turn off your camera - it is busy!

The T1i does not have this feature, like most digital SLR cameras. You should just look through the viewfinder to take the photo, which gives you a much more precise view of the photo, where you can better assess the correctness of focus, etc.
This feature is called "Live View" and is available on some newer or higher end models.

Check to see if you have the flash set on "red-eye". This causes the flash to pre-flash to eliminate red-eye in your photos. It's a real pain for most photos but if you're shooting in low light, it will eliminate the red-eye.

To autofocus the sensor needs a fair amount of contrast (light and dark eges) to operate. If you're trying to take a photo in a dim room of a dark colored subject for instance the focus won't lock and the camera won't take the picture. Try switching your lens to manual focus and shoot that way.

You can use any ISO setting you want. After all, it's a digital camera...you can experiment to find the settings you like and it doesn't cost a cent.

Sounds like your card is too slow. For uninterrupted movies and fast writing, you need a class 6 card or faster. They're more expensive but well worth it.

In the manual mode, you have to set the focus (distance to subject), aperture and shutter speed. Did you set all of them before you shot the picture?

Busy usually means the camera is writing to the card. Have you tried to format the card in the camera and then take pictures?

Are you connected to the PC? If so it is processing the download, thus it is busy working.
