JVC THC-5 Surround System Problem

all of a sudden my surround system stopped putting out any sound, the green on light on the sub won't come on and it says I have a sw error, i checked all of the connections they seem fine, can't figure out why it is not working, all troubles seem to point to the powered subwoofer?
