We were using a Roper range last night Model F990880 or F9908B0 (hard to read). It started beeping and flashing F2 and F3. We can't find a manual and are wondering what it means and how to fix it.

The oven temperature sensor has failed.
Turn off power to the oven.
Open the oven door.
Look on the rear wall of the oven up high for a thin metal piece extending into the oven.
Remove the screw and pull it out.
Unhook the quick connect wire harness.
Buy a new temperature sensor and reverse the order above to install.

The oven starts beeping and flashing F-2

First shut off breaker for 5minutes and see if it resets if not,
F2 indicates a high temp was reached. Remove the temp sensor it is located inside the oven near the top back. 2 screws hold it in.Carefully pull it out there will be 2 wires attached. Check with an ohmeter should have a reading of about 1100 ohms +- 10% if not within that range replace the oven temp sensor. If it checks out good you will need to replace the ERC electronic range control /clock. Both are easy to replace. If you need diagrams or illustrations of your specific model enter your model # at www.appliancehelponline.com. All parts come with installation instructions.

BAKE Control senses oven temperature above 615F-630F If actual over temperature condition occurred: Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).

If no over temperature condition occurred: Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit, not actual oven temperature. F2

Ge oven codes

F2 means your oven temp got too high. At least, that's what the control boards thinks. More than likely you have a bad oven sensor or bad wire to it or a bad connection somewhere between the board and sensor.

When we cook in the oven it says F2 every 10 mins.

This means that your oven temp sensor has failed. There is no way to fix the sensor. You have to replace. The f2 means that your oven has reached its heaeting limit and it shuts down for safety. Replace oven temp sensor and it wil fix it.
