Buy a battery charger and charge the battery for 8 hours at 6 amps. Some boosters can be used as a charger if you connect them to the mains power and the vehicle. No engine will start if the battery is below 11 volts.

Also over heating the engine may have caused internal cylinder head damage (warping) and to spark plugs, pistons and valves. Pull the spark plugs and see if the cylinders are full of coolant.

This van has a history of overheating.

Is this a petrol or diesel version ,also what year ?? these opels can and do suffer from a dodgy computer on the older models especially the petrol versions

Never ignore warning lights. The spanner light is the cpu telling you that maintenance is required on the engine. Suggest you have the fault codes read asap. It could be that the timing belt has to be replaced.

need to let it cool down first.. if you can touch it and not burn your hand..it should be cooled down.. some components will cut out automatically when extemely hot..also gas tends to vapor out when hot causing vapor lock..this condition will persist until cooldown is acheived which takes a few hours..

Can mean many things, automatic gearbox, emissions problems and if it flashes, it is an immobilizer fault. The car can be driven, if running ok but the engine management system should be checked ASAP. The speed-limiter is likely to be enabled via the ECU. Removing the limiter is a five-minute job if you have access to the GM Tech 2 electronic management/diagnostic tool.

If the van is yours then there's no legal requirement for the limiter. You could just book it in at a Vauxhall dealer for the limiter to be removed. They may charge you for an hour's labour though. Still worth doing in my opinion.
