Question about Lexmark X1240 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Windows Vista Compatibility

Even after downloading the Windows Vista Driver I get the following message: AIOC exe has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

By the way this is and e-machine

What you need to change is your screen resolution to either 800 x 600 or to 1024 x 768 (in your desktop settings)
What is happening is that your Lexmark all-in-one center doesn't think your monitor can handle the program (or something to that effect).
You will NOT have to restart your computer either.
Just restart your Lexmark All-In-One program and you can start scanning.

What you will see

The following errors may appear when you try to print:

AIOC.exe has encountered an error
AIOC.exe has stopped working
Printer interface has stopped working

You may also encounter the following issues:

The All-In-One Center (AIOC) is missing.
You can scan via Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) but not using the AIOC.

What to do
Disconnect the USB cable.

Restart the computer to restart the print spooler. NOTE: Click here for instructions on how to stop and restart the spooler without restarting the computer.

Run the applicable cleanup utility, i.e. vistacleanXXX.exe. To obtain this, go to ftp://ftp.lexmark.com/driver/inkjet_drivers/Cleanup/ and select the file for your printer from the list of available utilities.

Reinstall the printer software using the correct Vista driver.

I suggest you use the driver from the Lexmark website. You may need to uninstall the existing Lexmark X1270 driver first before installing the new one (instructions on how to uninstall the Lexmark software available at http://bit.ly/8ZH59T). Then, check if your Vista and Windows 7 are running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by going to the Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. Download the compatible driver for your operating system:

I have a lexmark x7170 and installed the updated driver for vista and now i get a aioc exe stopped working can u help


You can try running the software again to repair any possible corrupted files. If this doesn't help, unplug the printer from the computer then uninstall by following the instructions on this link: http://bit.ly/c2fYfJ . After rebooting your computer, check if your Vista is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by clicking on the Windows logo Start button > right click on Computer > Properties. To reinstall, download the driver using this link: http://bit.ly/bRlRST (for 32-bit) or this link: http://bit.ly/dCG9iC (for 64-bit). Install the software. Follow the instructions on the software. If still this doesn't help, you might need to update the .NET framework of your computer. If that's the case, I advise you to contact Microsoft for assistance. Downloaded driver Lexmark for x9350 Prints - Software Does Not


You would need to download the Vista 64bit package of Lexmark Productivity. Install this version and you should be all set. Hope this helps.

Dell A920 with Windows Vista

That A920 is working with vista, here is the drivers for thet:

Dont forget to download and install the application to, you need all the files on that site


For that 968 printer, uninstall it, download the files from the link below and reinstall it, that will make your printer work again

Aioc.exe has stopped working lexmark 5400


this usually happens when you try using the old cd on a vista os.. most of the time the cd was made to work on xp only since during the time of release of those printer, vista was not yet out of the market.. try downloading this patch ftp://ftp.lexmark.com/driver/inkjet_drivers/AIOCenter_patch
disable user account control first.. you can do this in msconfig on the tools tab then run the patch
chose the right series of you printer.. normally when you run the file it will extract the file and run the patch.. cancel the application after extracting the file..
go to c drive on you computer... look for the folder LxkPatchAIOC
go inside the folder and look for the word aioreg.. right click on it and choose merge...
that should fix the issue..
if in case it didnt work on you... try calling 1-800-lexmark

Windows Vista Compatibility


I had to go to my firewall and check the history. I happen to be running the Norton firewall right now and the Lexmark interface was marked as "auto" for access to the Lexmark site. I changed the setting to "Allow" and it immediately began to print. I am using the cjr3300en driver which is the current listed on the Lexmark site for Vista.

it could be software problem. try to reinstall the driver including the utility software. make sure that you install it correctly with no errors.
