Primer: The Dell Dimension 3000 Desktop PC comes with Integrated Graphics. This is a graphics chip that is soldered directly to the motherboard. Another term for Integrated Graphics, is OnBoard Graphics. On the motherBoard. There is no way to increase the graphics performance of integrated graphics. Chip and Chipset are slang terms for IC, or Integrated Circuit. Proper computer speak for graphics chip is GPU. Graphics Processing Unit. The Dimension 3000 uses an Intel Extreme Graphics 2, GPU. When referring to a video, or graphics adapter card, you are referring to a dedicated graphics card, which has a GPU soldered to the adapter card, not to Integrated Graphics. A graphics card is removable, and is installed in the best expansion slot on the motherboard, for graphics. To upgrade graphics performance I suggest you use a graphics card. Since the Dimension 3000, only has PCI expansion slots for using a graphics adapter card, (Graphics Card), you need to use a PCI graphics card. (PCI slots are white in color. Use any PCI slot you wish, as long as it is open, and available) The Intel Extreme Graphics 2 GPU uses some of the system resources. Specifically the Processor, and Ram Memory, and a lot of it. A dedicated graphics card does not, or uses very little. This is because a dedicated graphics card has it's own Processor (GPU), and graphics ram memory. A computer that is using only Integrated Graphics, will slow down in performance, when a graphics intensive program is being used. Such as a intense game. The Processor and Ram Memory has to keep the Operating System going, as well as the game's graphics requirements. (Characters, background, shading, etc) With a dedicated graphics card the system resources are greatly freed up, increasing computer performance.

Yes. It already has a decent video card but it has 3 pci slots available and you can use one of these for a better video card. My advice is anything Nvidia. The higher the number the better the card and higher the price

I have a dell dimension 3000. I want to add a 2nd monitor. I believe the video is integrated, Does the unit have a slot to add a video card. What kind of card should be added?

The Dimension 3000 Springdale G chipset supports AGP 8X cards, integrated video, integrated audio, ICH5, 533/800 MHz FSB, dual channel DDR 333/400 memory, integrated Serial ATA, and the Intel Pentium 4 Prescott.
The AGP 8X slot refers to Advanced Graphics Port. You can add a AGP video card if you motherboard has that slot. Usually that slot is encased by a green plastic enclosure .

I have an AA A83421-107 motherboard, E210882. I want to upgrade the video card and was wondering what the details are for my mother board?

Your model 4500 has an AGP slot for video cards. The Accelerated Graphics Port (often shortened to AGP) is a high-speed point-to-point channel for attaching a video card to a computer's motherboard, primarily to assist in the acceleration of 3D computer graphics. Since 2004, AGP has been progressively phased out in favor of PCI Express.
Here is a link to the technical specs of your motherboard:

Hi im looking to upgrade my dell dimension 4700 graphics card. I currently am running a radeon x300. the minimum improvement im looking for is 512mb. also wondering if ill need to increase my psu as I...

Since you want to upgrade your video card to a much powerful one, you can check this out ATI Radeon HD 4670 HD4670 512MB DVI PCIe Video Card.

Doing the upgrade a power supply upgrade is also advisable since new video card like now requires a high power supply, upgrade the power supply to at least 500W and for a additional fan is already recommended to avoid any overheating problem.

About where the graphic's card in on my dell Dimension 3000.

From a general look on Dells website your computer only supports PCI style cards. You might have a completely different style of motherboard in there depending on when your PC was made. The only way to know whats truely inside your computer is to look up the Service Tag that is on the outside of the case. You can also take the side cover off (after you unplug the computer) and look inside if the motherboard (towards the bottom) in there only has 3 Cream colored slots on it then it only supports PCI cards.

Dell Dimension 3000, ATI tuner issues

I have an older ATI turner as well and the older cards do not work too well with Windows Xp or Vista. You may be able to find a driver that works by performing a Google search for it, otherwise the cards are very inexpensive right now and you can pick up a new one, probably with HD, for less than $100.

On Ati side you can get

Dell Dimension 3000 PC Desktop Burned Out w/Memory Upgrade

Is the video card built into the motherboard? If not you can try replacing just the video card to see if that works. Otherwise I am afraid you may have to replace the motherboard.
