Panasonic Viera 37 inch Plasma won't read DVD player

Our panasonic veira 37 inch plasma will not read our new sony hdmi cd/dvd player. We've tried two cables so I'm concerned it is the TV itself. There are red fuzzy lines when the DVD is connected but the cable/VCR connections are fine. Any ideas? Thanks!

we are using a delta component video ofhc copper cable. we have several screen options when pressing tv/video. video 1 (which shows the TV channel with the same red fuzzy distortion) video 2 (blank), video 3 (blank), PC/Full (blank), a fuzzy station, Comp 1 (Cable picture), Comp 2 (currently the channel we are using for the DVD red and fuzzy), HDMI (red and fuzzy).

Should we be using a channel other than the Comp 2 channel?

    Thanks!

Does the cd/dvd player have component hookups or are you just using HDMI cable, lots of tv's are having trouble with the HDMI protocol, I only use component cabling, it has HD capability up to 1080i resolution

Color distortion when playing DVDs

If the player has other outputs try connecting the player to the tv using one of them, ie: use the A/V output instead of HDMI from the player. If the problem goes away there is something wrong with the input on the tv.

Whats the best way to install a panasonic viera tc-p50x3 to a yamaha home theater receiver rx-v371 to a panasonic blueray dmpbd75 using dishnet work hddvr set top box

connect your blue ray and your dish net with hdmi cables to the amplifier than monitor out hdmi to tv .in your dvd configuration you must make sure that hdmi audio is activated .ps not to be mean but this is a very low quality dvd because it does not have fiber optique audio output but it can still work, for your dis net it all depends on what type of digital audio output
is available , ill be honest with you this is a good job .

Please make sure your connectors are in the proper place.

The HDMI inputs on the rear of the TV are optimized for use with Audio/Video devices, Blu-ray Disc Player, DVD Recorder, etc.
The front or side HDMI inputs only are designated for PC. To use the TV as a PC monitor, advise customers to use only front or side HDMI inputs.

Ps3 hookup to panasonic plasma viera

Actually if you do have a ps2 you don`t really need a Dvd upconverter because Ps3 is a full Dvd player +blu Ray Hi Definition.I suggest to take the dvd out and just use the ps3 as a Dvd player

You need a cable from your audio outlet to the home theatre receiver. Veira link is just for the picture. Only one way transmission. Optical cable or the 2 wires. Both options are available.
