Re: IBM T43 Keyboard
Remove the screws on the bottom of the machine - there are 3 I think one of them is below a removeable panel - the plastic base is marked with a little keyboard symbol by each screw - then pop up the tab with the mouse buttons on by gently pushing a small pin or rod in the hole from the base under this tab where the screw was. Lift keyboard at the front and slide toward you until it is released by the screen - lift the keyboard gently and disconnect the plug from the connecting cable.

Hi. You need to turn the number-lock (NumLock) off. There should be a button on the keyboard to do this. If you find the button, hold down shift and press the NumLock button. If not, click - Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > On-Screen Keyboard, and click the NumLock button. This should solve your problem. Post back results and good luck.
Hi i recommend you replace the keyboard for this problem. Its a bad contact underneath the keyboard. Its a whole assembly keyboard you cannot just replace one key for this one. Thanks You can call Lenovo (IBM) support to order a keyboard repalcement. 1 800 426 7378.Thanks
Any luck replacing the noisy fan? I also have a 2613-CTO with a noisy fan and am assuming I will need to make the same repair. Do you have a part number for the replacement fan? Also where were you able to get a service manual and/or access to service videos.
Hi there here is the instructions for replacing the keyboard of your laptop. Please note: dont forget to take the saftey precautions before opening your laptop.Like disconnect the powercord then remove the battery.
It sounds like you have a lose connection. I wouldn't really be most likely under the keyboard but probably under the strip that is above the keyboard. That strip would need to be removed and reseat the connections. You might need to have a shop do that if you are not comfortable with taking off that piece.
Does THIS help? It looks to be a good walkthrough. The trick is that the "scissor" type bracket for the key must be raised up while you put the key on. Some keys are easily just pressed into position, but it looks like this manual might help.
ok listen listen the answer is this the other memory is right under the keyboard. turn the lappy upside down the screws that hold the keyboard in are the ones mark with two triangle then open the lappy like you would normally for operation use a screw driver flat head is good put it between the bottom left or right corner better yet put it in line withe the down arrow key push the keyboard up as though you are pushing the function key closerto the top then pluck up the keyboard gently as you would a tin of paint gently a cable is there that connect the keyboard to the motherboard disconnect install the memory then work the steps backward
U may have a software problem & u may have to remove and REstore the drivers for the[keyboadr] button\volume control.
Did u get a RESTORE disk\CD for your t43 pc?
2nd) your keyboard maybe dirty and may need cleaning.
they sell a small vaccum cleaner with a small brush attached to the 'sucky' part.
If not use a " smoking Pipe cleaner " [looks like the ties that keep bread from coming out of the plastic bag] but with soft material around the entire length.soke with lighter fulid,Stick the "pipe cleaner" inbetween the keypads on the keyboard . make sure that u AIR FAN the keyboard V E R Y G O O D AND MAKE SURE THAT THE power is off before u do this.
