Question about Fisher and Paykel 23 in. DD-603SS Built-in Dishwasher

Fisher and Paykel dishdraw DS603

I have attached to the dishwasher a current monitor which supplies electrical protection
Last night the dishdrae just would not go on, I looked inside cupboard at the current monitor and the red light was on.
This then let me know there is an electrical fault, I immediately switch it off.
The problem I now have is the door of the dishdraw is locked and will not open no matter what I do, and it is full of dishers as we were ready to put it on to wash when all this happenned.
The book says to hold down the lock button and it should unlock, but nothing happens
When the draw went off it did not come up with any reading to say what the fault was.
Can you put any light on this with any experience to maybe what the fault is and how to open the draw???
Thankyou regards KJ

Unit sudenly failed to power up. We tested the electric outlet and it is functioning correctly. Dishwasher drawer is locked, and because the untit will not opwer up, there are no "lit" indicators. Pressing any and all control buttons does nothing.

Look closely at hte display in theright corner is there a little icon that looks like a "lock". if so your control lock is on. do you get any response from any buttons??? if your able to power it up did you try to stop/andrestart unit. sounds like a silly question but sometimes the lid locks down from a power surge/interuption. restarting or canceling current cycle forced drawer to unlock and lock itself..assuming this is the top drawer is the bottom functioning ok??, behind the bottom drawer taped on back wall of inside of unit is atech sheet, with a pretty good troubleshooter. to remove the drawer push in rectangler hinge locks in hte bottom front corner of drawer front, just below the circles(no noeed to remove the circles)push themin and slide back the drawer will lift off and your able to set it aside(wont come out to far its connected by the hoses but itll come out enough(reset the door unto the hinge slides and pull hte lock latch foward to lock back into place

Water full

Water Inlet Valve

The dishwasher has an electrical water valve called a water inlet valve. If the dishwasher won't fill with water, the water inlet valve might be defective. These valves are not repairable and will have to be replaced.

Float

The float assembly is normally inside the dishwasher near the door on the floor of the dishwasher. If something gets stuck underneath it and holds the float assembly up, the dishwasher won't fill with water. If the float assembly moves freely up and down, the float switch might be defective.

Float Switch

The float switch is actuated by the float assembly. It is a protection device designed to prevent the dishwasher from overfilling. If the dishwasher won't fill with water, it may be because this float switch is defective or stuck.

Water Supply Problem

The dishwasher is connected to the hot water supply from the house. Check to be sure the household water supply valve is turned on. Over time, calcium deposits can build up in the water supply valve or in the small filter screen inside the water inlet valve. The water supply line may need to be removed from the water inlet valve of the dishwasher, then run some water into a bucket to see if there is enough pressure. Be certain to turn off the water before working on the water line.

please see the diagram attached, and test with VOM the part that is suspected. God bless you3a10238c-31de-45fe-a0e8-1cf960673779.gif2e2dc2e9-fdb9-4489-a42b-42c2dbe1e233.jpg

My xg-91D monitor won't turn on. no light on power button. I turned it off last night and it won't turn on

AC outlet is good?
You may have dead power supply due to bad caps.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

The heat/dry has remained "on".

Hi,

Firstly, if you haven't done so already, you need to disconnect your dryer from the electrical supply immediately as failure to do so will result in a large electricity bill and cause further damage to the dishwasher.

Unfortunately, this is most likely a failure in the control module - most likely the relay for the heating circuit has failed in the closed/on position. Unfortunately, the control module is one of the most expensive parts to replace so if the dishwasher is old, you might want to consider replacing it.

It's possible to get a replacement relay (dead cheap) and solder it onto the PCB, but I don't recommend this as a DIY fix.

Hope this helps.

Water not going in does not stop running some one said it could be the float

on the dishwasher there is a float located ,on most models, in the lower left hand corner of the dishwasher bottom inside the washer itself. This float controls the level of the water during the operation of it. This float is under a round plastic cap that is connected to the dishwasher by a 1/4 inch head size screw. Once you remove this protective cap the float is right there. You can take your hand and lift this float up and down to see if it is indeed jammed. If the float moves around freely then the problem is with the water valve. This valve is operated by the timer and is located at the base of the washer. You will need to remove the bottom panel of the dishwasher and where the water supply line connects to the washer there is your valve. Sometimes these valves are blue in color sometimes grey. The valve is activated electrically by the timer. When the timer calls for the washer to be filled it sends an electrical current to the valve which in turn the valve opens allowing the flow of water. Sometimes this valve, which has a collection screen, clogs with debris from the water supply, minerals, calcium, water softner salt, along with many other particals found in municipal water supply. First, shut off the electricity to the unit and the water supply and then remove the valve. On the inside of the valve there should be a small screen that can be removed with a pair of needle nosed pliers. You should see the debris as soon as you look into the valve. If there isn't a screen there then I would replace the valve with a new one. Cost is around 20.00 to 25.00 u.s.d. and can be purchased at any appliance parts house I would replaced this valve anyway since you have already removed it. Make sure to take model # and serial # for correct part replacement.

Hope this has helped you

Air worked fine all last night and his morning.

if the air comes on for a short time and then turns off for 15-30 minutes, the overload protection inside the compressor is shutting down to protect the compressor. this can be caused by blocked supply or return vents, improper charge, bad valves in the compressor, and a multitude of other things. the problem will have to be corrected first.

Monitor wont stay on

With such a vague question without much detail.
I will offer the following:

1. Older monitor now over heating and tripping the built in thermostat.
Do not use! Replace as soon as possible. Fire hazard.

2. New monitor, Defective take it back immediately.
Could be a fire hazard.

3. Most people do not realize how much the power in their home fluctuates. Try plugging the monitor and PC into a UPS unit.
Uninterruptible power supply. This will do two things, provide a stable current and protect your equipment from electrical spikes and brown outs. If it is the current in your home, the monitor should stop rebooting.

4. last check the plug and make sure the cable and plug is in good shape. Bent prongs in the outlet can cause a short and cause the monitor to reboot.

Good luck!

Dishwasher will not turn on. Last night I started

You need to measure with a voltmeter for 115 Volts at the electrical box under the washer front. Breakers can fail, yet look ok. This will check the breaker output and all of the wiring in between. There may also be a local circuit breaker that tripped.

Tripping out

Oh oh. Most probably you have an ( electrical ) earth-leak in your dishwasher.(DW) In many cases this happens when the liquid in your DW must be heated. This heating is done by a resistor which you can see in the bottom of your DW ( a tube ).When heating up some liquid will get thru minor metal cracks in the outer resistance tube causing a path able to conduct some "leak"-current to the earth, and cause the the "differential" circuit breaker to switch off all current supply in house. ( Thanks it exist and works, it saved many lives) Best is to ask a repair-service to do the job; this can be done at your home.At the same time they have to check the thermal protection in the DW. If the resistor is not the failure, the electrical leak can come from other locations in the DW ; an isolation failure within the cabling or around the pump. It is not always evident to trace such an electrical leak, a repair service normally use a Megger ( this is real British ) to trace. Hopefully you don't have to manual dishwash too long.
