It is possible that a bios update will allow the laptop battery meter to function correctly. Care should be taken with bios updates.

When you say "compatible" battery, do you mean it is not an originalPackard Bell one maybe from China? It is useful to have this information rather than have to tease it out from people looking for assistance.

Then - consult wherever you bought it from - or their supplier or contact the manufacturer. If you are in the US the item must be individually licensed for sale.

If the old battery worked then it is likely that there is a problem with the clone battery. Laptop batteries have a sophisticated control circuit inside - maybe the clone copy is not so good. Be wary as there is a high incidence of laptop batteries failing and several recalls - batteries have even exploded.

Battery not present lenovo g530

sometimes 3rd-party battery MFR's do not produce batteries that are FULLY compatible with the laptop; and some laptop MFR's are built to reject non-OEM replacements. It is also possible that you have a bad battery.

Before purchasing a laptop battery, always read the reviews to look-for any that indicated a problem of not recognizing, like you have now.

To answer the question though....if it does not recognize it now, that will not change in the future by any means at your disposal, (like installing new software.)

Hard drive has been wiped trying to re boot from windows xp cd. changed battery on mother board. getting alert low battery voltage and pc will not re boot. asking re boot trying pressing F1

It sounds like you either got a bad battery or one that is not compatible with your motherboard. Try replacing with a new battery that is compatible with your mb & see if this corrects the error. If you just bought the other battery you are using you should be able to get a refund or store credit towards the new one. Also make sure all the cables are properly seated as one may have come lose during original replacement. Hope this helps.

Compaq nx6320 won't power up

Replace your battery Some laptops don't boot up when no battery is present even it is connected directly on the power supply. Or if not to visit your nearest HP service center. If its still with warranty, use it.

Good luck kabayan. ^_~

Packard Bell Easynote - not powering up

If this is a notebook , hold the power button down for about 6 seconds to make sure this is not just in hibernate. Make sure it is plugged directly into the wall power outlet , not a power strip.
Some laptops have a power increase when plugged into the wall and less when running off batteries.

I have a Packard Bell Easynote M5263. I turned it on yesterday and noticed it was running of the battery rather than the mains. when the battery ran out the cumputer shut down. The mains adapter seems to...

possible cause.... check to see if there is a voltage on the connector of the power connector to the laptop.

try disconnecting the battery from the laptop, and connect the power connector, if the laptop works then you know there is a problem with the charging circuits or the battery itself.

Some one has given me a Packard bell easynote C 3300, ive plugged it in the power supply but all i get is a flashing orange battery light, what is happening please

try takeing out the battery and then try pluging the main power back in and see what happens. if the orange light goes away that means your battery is no good.

Packard bell easynote laptop model no mv35-202just keeps coming up with auto detecting ide please wait but just hangs there for hours & does nothing even with anew hard drive

Probably the controller card (built into the mother board) so you might be out of luck..
couple of possibilities, sometimes you can add the hard drive details into bios manually, the other is, do you have the motherboard software? Loading the correct drivers might help.
