I have a 2002 Acura RSX that has AC Problem. Blows very cold air, but not all the time. As long as RPM is running at drive speeds, I have cold air. However, at stop lights the air temp goes warm. If I accelerate, I get nice cold air again. The other thing I note is that it may be blowing perfectly fine cold air as I drive a half hour or hour down the interstate. All of a sudden, air gets warm. I turn it off for 15 minutes, turn back on, air is cold again. Any suggestions???

Your ac compressor is freezing up try not putting it on cold all the way. put thermostat towards the red jus a lil but still on the cold side to see if that helps

Regarding the heating issue, sounds like your thermostat is stuck open so the coolant isn't heating up. (May need replacement) Does your engine temp guage show it running colder than normal?

SOURCE: 02 acura rsx-s AC stopped

my 2002 rsx type s ac did the exact same thing. got to the point that i started hearing a weird noise like stuff clunking around everytime i turned it on. took it into the dealer and they said the compressor just fell apart inside... i had to buy a new one and it wasnt cheap to replace. problem was, the same equipment also played a part in the heating system too... so they told me.

SOURCE: My Acura RSX 2002 AC

If your vehicle had a condenser replaced and is now only blowing warm, chances are a cheap version of the OEM was installed. Demand an OEM replacement or you will never have cold air

If it is the original it is getting plugged up and needs to be replaced

Clutch replaced on my 2002 Acura RSX type S. Engine light . codes::Left front wheel speed sensor; Rear right outlet Solenoid sensor mlf:;Low Voltage Knock Sensor.Engine turnover probs afterrefueling

left front wheel speed sensor is more then likely due, to a malfunction sensor for the abs sensor, badly connected sensor, or wiring, or contacts corroded or damaged, the knock sensor is usualy do to a fault sensor at the crank shaft where the timing belt is due, this is also more then likely to your engine turnover problems and is just coincidence when refueiling

Your system is either out of sync on the control, or the air temperature control blend door is not moving due a failure of the door or its actuator motor.

How do you check your timing belt and replace it for 02 acura rsx

There is no timing belt on the K20. It's a Chain.
the Belt you see is only the Serpentine Belt. It's attached to a Crank pully so it'll turn the pullies on the AC and Power Stering Pumps, and also the Alternator. This is NOT the "timing belt" as it has nothing to do with the timing or running of the engine.

The heater in my 2002 Acura RSX doesn't put out unless I'm accelerating or driving at a higher RPM setting. We've replaced the thermostat already, but the issue still persist. Any suggestions on how to fix...

The heater core may be plugging off. With engine cold, remove hoses, both supply and return to heater core, and run a garden hose thru it, if it flows freely the problem is something else. If it does not flow freely you may be able to continue flushing thru until it does. If it doesn't flow freely try running the hose thru the other side of the heater core.

My AC unit for a 2003 RSX-S does not blow cold air. The heater works fine and the fan is working good as well.

Check for a blown fuse or a bad relay for the compressor clutch. The clutch electrical winding may be open. When the A/C is switched on, the radiator fan should come on even if the engine is cold. If the clutch latches on and drives the compressor, then the freon charge may have leaked away from a bad compressor seal, or other hole in the system.

Acura rsx 2002 won't start below -15

you might have water or condensation on your gas lines. put an additive that removes condensation from the gas lines and see how that works for you.
