Celsius deshwasher CDW12. Dial gets jammed on water inlet settings?

I have a celsius dishwasher model CDW12. I think it is getting stuck on settings. When its got water flowing, it seems to be running for like 10 minutes in the same spot. We thought that the dishwasher was faulty like 2 years ago and havnt used it. But we decided to give it a go. So im unsure how long that part of the cycle goes for. We have been clicking it to the next setting to allow it to finish its cycle, because we think its running for too long... "Is it suppose to run in same position for some time or could the switch be faulty???"

I have the same problem. I have had the dishwasher for about 5 years and have not had a problem until now. It gets stuck in 2 spots.

Same problem, purchased new Timer/Controller and installed. Did not fix problem. Further investigation found break in heater element. Assume temp could not be reached so dial would not advance. Gave up in disgust and purchased new LG. Hope this helps.

PS. I have a new timer for sale if you need one.

Same problem as well. Timer never advances and water in the dishwasher is cold, so I'd have to agree with the theory that the heater element has died.

I'm trying to find a new element, but being a rather obscure cheapy brand I'm not holding much hope.

The Celcius dishwasher is owned by GAF. Their phone number in Australia is 1300 659 489. You could try them. Hope it works.

Have the same problem and a serviceman has identified that some of the gearing on the Selector Switch is damaged. Easy enough to replace it if only I can find a source of spare parts. Does anyone know?

Water Inlet Valve

The dishwasher has an electrical water valve called a water inlet valve. If the dishwasher won't fill with water, the water inlet valve might be defective. These valves are not repairable and will have to be replaced.

Float

The float assembly is normally inside the dishwasher near the door on the floor of the dishwasher. If something gets stuck underneath it and holds the float assembly up, the dishwasher won't fill with water. If the float assembly moves freely up and down, the float switch might be defective.

Float Switch

The float switch is actuated by the float assembly. It is a protection device designed to prevent the dishwasher from overfilling. If the dishwasher won't fill with water, it may be because this float switch is defective or stuck.

Water Supply Problem

The dishwasher is connected to the hot water supply from the house. Check to be sure the household water supply valve is turned on. Over time, calcium deposits can build up in the water supply valve or in the small filter screen inside the water inlet valve. The water supply line may need to be removed from the water inlet valve of the dishwasher, then run some water into a bucket to see if there is enough pressure. Be certain to turn off the water before working on the water line.

What is the coldest setting that it can be set to?

Usually about 30-35 degrees celsius. I can't be exact as you didn't specify the brand or model of your dishwasher. If you post back with the information, I can give you the exact temperature for your model.

How to disconnect

Hi,
To disconnect ....remove the kickplate...after turning off the electric and water...remove the electric wire from the dishwasher by opening the e;electric box and undoing the wires...also remove the water pipe/hose from the inlet valve...then remove the drain hose from the drain and makes sure that it will not catch as you pull out the dishwasher...then remove the two screws that hold the dishwasher fast to the countertop and the pull the dishwasher straight out from under the countertop...

No water entering dishwasher; motor running

The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. First Check to see if the valve is getting water. Make sure it’s not clogged. There is a screen on the inside of the valve, this sometimes gets clogged up with debris. Check to see if you get power to valve when unit is put into operation may take a couple minutes to start a fill. If you have power and it’s not clogged up replace the valve .If you have no power to the water inlet valve check float switch. This can be done by checking the continuity. There is a video of this at http://appliancehelponline.com/dishfloatwaterinletvideo.html this will walk you checking the water inlet valve and the float switch. It may be a different model but the testing procedure will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations for most models. All parts come with installation instructions.

My dishwasher will drain but will not fill up with water ?

Hello there
Specific symptoms include: Little or no water enters the tub . To find the cause, first check to be sure the water is ON.

always “zero” the ohmmeter before making any continuity checks on dishwasher components. . When making continuity checks with the volt/ohmmeter, always turn the electricity OFF at the circuit breaker panel. Live voltage checks will damage the meter movement. With the water ON, remove the lower panel. Place a towel or shallow container on floor to absorb water. Loosen the nut that secures the dishwasher water tubing to the inlet port of the water inlet valve. If water collects immediately in the towel or container, it can safely be assumed that the water pressure is adequate and the plumbing system is not clogged . If little or no water collects in the container, the water line gate valve could be defective or there is a problem in the plumbing system.
Turn the water OFF. Remove the lower panel. Loosen and remove nut that attaches water tubing to water inlet valve inlet port. With tubing removed, check for corrosion and debris that has accumulated inside the tubing and inlet valve inlet port. . Turn the water supply ON. Select a cycle on the timer dial where the dishwasher starts to fill with water. If it starts to fill with water — you fixed it. The problem was corrosion inside the water tubing or inlet valve water inlet port. If the dishwasher still does not fill with water, an additional electrical check will have to be made.Next, test for electrical power to the water inlet valve from the dishwasher timer assembly. Using the volt/ohmmeter, set the meter on the 150-volt scale and attach the two test leads of the volt/ohmmeter to the two terminals of the water inlet valve solenoid coil to be checked. Turn the water ON. With the test leads attached to the solenoid terminals, select a cycle on the dishwasher timer dial where the dishwasher starts to fill with water. Push in or pull out the timer dial. You should get a voltage reading of 110-125 volts A/C on the volt/ohmmeter scale. If you get a reading, this would indicate that electricity is available from the dishwasher timer assembly to the water inlet valve. However, the absence of water flow means the water inlet valve is defective

Bosch SHU 4000 series dishwasher; Water keeps on filling

The inlet valve will be at the dishwasher end of the (hot) water inlet line. On this dishwasher I ~believe~ the inlet valve is near the rear of the unit. That means that you will need to pull the dishwasher out to get to it. Remove power from the dishwasher as soon as you can before messing with the unit.
Just past the connection of the supply hose and the connection on the dishwasher, there will be the valve (a solenoid valve with two wires coming out of it.) That is the little beast that has most likely failed.
Good Luck!

I don't have the manual but I can make a few suggestions. First, if you have left scraps on the plates, they won't come clean. Second, if the water is not hot enough, you will have problems with your detergent. Three, use the amount of detergent the bowl holds. Fourth, never jam in more to the unit than it should easily hold...in the utensil racks, for example. Fifth, always make it easy for what you've put in to drain thoroughly so the drying cycle works.
