This may work for you: Along the top of Yahoo email, you will see buttons Delete, Reply, etc. There is a button in the row with 3 rectangles and a drop down arrow. click on the button and change the setting to "Page by Page (classic". After Yahoo email resets, go in and select the button again to get the style you want.
Another approach may be to sign out of yahoo email, restart the web browser and see if the problem is resolved.
There is no relation between Yahoo as home page and accessing yahoo mail.
You can always open an internet browser and type the url www.yahoo.com. On the webpage you can click on "Mail" at the top of the left column. This will take you to the Yahoo Mail site. There you can type your user name and password and login.
Anyway, if you want to set Yahoo as home page you can open your internet browser and click tool->Internet Options. This will open a dialog box. Under the "general" tab there will be a text box under "Home Page". Type www.yahoo.com in the box. Click OK.
Close the browser. When you open the browser again yahoo home page will come.
It is Not in Options.... To Switch Back to Previous Version of Yahoo Mail do this: 1. Click Help in the Upper Left-hand side of the Beta Mail screen. 2. Scroll down, click Return to Original Mail/Leave the Mail Preview 3. When you reach the Confirmation window, Complete the form, then click Continue. 4. Allow the mail page to Reformat.
You will then be returned to the Previous Version of Mail.
Should it be switched to "All-New Mail" - merely do this: 1. click Options at right side of mail page 2. click Mail Options 3. click Switch to Classic4. Allow the Mail Page to Reformat to Classic Mail..
Since you have not signed up for Yahoo Mail Plus, they do not allow you to use another program to access your mail. They want you to use their WebMail Page so that they can serve you ads to pay for their service. They have an excellent Email Web Page, so it's a small price to pay.
But if you really need POP access and don't want to pay to get it, you could consider using Gmail. They allow POP access for free. Just setup a new Gmail account and go into the settings on the Gmail Webpage. From there, you can enable POP access. Be sure to write down the server information you will need to enter into your Email Program.
Verify the setting via Manage accounts on your XP machine (the one the email client works on) in whatever email client you use on it and verify and edit if need be the setting in your Windows Live Mail on your Vista home Laptop.
