No hot water

Faucet hook-ups are correct but the machine will only run cold water. If the hook-ups are reversed, the machine will run hot water.

Our samsung front loader is the same, thats because it has a ceramic plate in it and heats up the cold water during the cycle :)

There are 3 things that can cause this.

1. The water valve solenoid being stuck or having a failed coil or

2. The temp selector switch having a defective contact

3. The wiring to the hot solenoid coil has a problem.

Most of the time the problem is the water valve itself.

If you have a meter you can remove power from the unit and read the coils on the water valve. They both should read a low resistance.
Also both sets of wires can be checked in pairs. Remove the wires from each solenoid one at a time and check for a voltage 115V on the coil selected by that temp. Hot = 1 cold = 1. Each pair should read 115V when selected. Both solenoids should be powered when warm is selected.
If you have power on the wires and continuity across the coils then there is an internal problem with the water valve itself. Either the plunger is stuck or the diaphram is clogged.
At the moment as you know you have one working solenoid on the water valve.

Thanks for using FixYa.

If you have voltage and continuity then try this trick..... Remove ONE hose at the faucett/wall shut off and place it in a bucket.

-Then start a cycle using warm water. Water will back-flow into the bucket.

-Tap on the hose connection at the water valve with the wooden handle of a hammer or the handle of a screw driver. Do this for about 20 seconds or so. Then stop the machine and reconnect the hose at the wall connection. Water ON

-Remove the other hose at the wall connection and repeat the hose in bucket warm cycle fill tap on the water valve hose connection with something non-metalic for 20 seconds.

-Reconnect the hose at the wall and test to see if you have warm water with warm selected. Also test hot and cold.

If you still have the problem after doing this with continuity and power verified at the water valve the water valve is internally sticking / clogged and will need replaced.

    Thanks again for using FixYa.

When my Kenmore machine is running on the wash cycle warm/warm no water is coming at all. I could run the machine only with cold water even on the cycle warm/cold.

Most likely the hot water hose is plugged up, or least likely, the hot/cold valve is broken or plugged up.
Find a large container, or better yet, hook up a garden hose that you might try the faucet where the hot water is hooked up and see if water will come out of it when the washer hose is not hooked up there.
If it will not, you have a plugged up hot water pipe or the water heater shut off valve is closed.
If you get good water pressure and hot water from the faucet, look at the filter screens that are inside the ends of the hot water hose and see if any are plugged up.
There may be several.
If not, perhaps the inlet water solenoid has failed. That plastic part is where the hoses attach to the washer itself.
God bless your efforts.

Whirpool washer reversing hot and cold cycle during rinse

Most likely you will need to insure that you have hooked up the fill hoses to the appropriate input. The inputs on the back off the washer are marked H or C for hot and cold. Double check that the hot water faucet and hose is connected to the input marked H and the cold faucet and hose are connected to the C input. This should repair the problem.
If not..

For further trouble shooting, I will need the model number. It should be found under the lid or on the back of the unit.
I look forward to assisting your further.

Washer was working fine! Moved washer to new house, and now it will run but only with hot water. put washer on Auto controll, and cold cold or warm cold setting, and it wont even turn on.

Have you tried checking your cold water supply faucet? Are you sure there is cold water running out of that faucet before you hooked up the hose? Is it possible there is a shut off on the supply valve that isn't turned on? Therefore it will not run on cold water setting? This actually happened to me once. We went away for a week and turned the water off for the hot and cold supplys. Came back to do laundry and only turned the hot one on and not the cold. Good luck!

Can't get anything but warm of hot water

If you set the washer for cold wash with a cold rinse, no hot or warm should enter the machine. If any hot or warm enters machine on cold / cold, check to see if the hot and cold hoses are hooked up correctly, and not reversed.

Faucet connector

If I am reading this correctly you want to connect washer to the faucet inputs. This requires washer hose kit at any hardware store. Kit has two hoses,<simular to garden hose> they have double end that will connect to both washer and faucet.Make sure when hooking up you hook cold to cold and hot to hot,< washer has C and H to know which is which.

No hot water

First thing to do is to check the filter screens in the hoses if they have them second check the screen at the machine hot inlet. If your home has galvanized piping flakes of rust could have clogged the screens. Same goes for the hot side washer bib (faucet) if rust has clogged or any other type of debris you will not get any water.
