My laptop gets an error 1598 when I installed the broadcom. I have wireless now but I get a pop up saying it encountered a problem do you want to send error report.

You have to install the WiFi card with an Installer before it is recognized by device manager... go to the link below, and download the WiFi driver and install as Administrator. You will need to know your exact model number to do so.. Do NOT just get a WiFi driver that will NOT work, you must get installer version.

There are 3 driver options for Acer Aspire 4310, you may refer to the link below:

Atheros wireless
Broadcom wireless
Intel wireless

** turn off pop-up blocker to load the link properly.

The Broadcom driver maybe corrupted on got uninstalled. Reinstall the Broadcom driver.

the software you are talking about is on the compaq web site unless you have a very old machine unless you have a PCMCIA card that you are using for wireless. To see if your broadcom wireless has the proper software driver installed, go to Start/Control Panel/System/hardware or device manager. You should see a list of all the hardware devices on your machine. Make sure there is no error symbol associated with the broadcom wireless device. Make sure it is not disabled....should be obvious. It should look just like all the other devices in terms of display.

It seems that the adapter is not installed properly ..... uninstall the adapter from control panel >> Add & remove programs Reinstall the adapter again by using it on different port .....

the drivers are not getting installed properly and i am sure that you are installing the right drivers,
what you can go is go to device manager and then right click on the drivers and go to properties,
once the properties box opens go to the tab that says drivers,click on update drivers and then go ahead and folow the wizard to update the drivers(make sure you download a fresh set of wireless drivers)..if it still gives a yellow triangle,
go ahead and right click on the wireless drivers,click on uninstall and then restart the computer and checked if it still has the yellow bang..

once you downlaod the drivers its a zip file,download in the desktop,right click on it and then click on unzip,once the files are unzipped go to the unzipped folder and then click on install for the setup..and in this webpage go ahead and choose wireless broadcom as the option as it shows lan broadcom and wireless broadcom,u can also try installing wireless intel because it might be that you have intel card in you computer and not broadcom..

HELLO,PRESS AND HOLD THE POWER ON BUTTON FOR A FEW SECONDS UNTIL YOU GET A POWER LIGHT.ONCE YOU GET THE LIGHT,THE LAPTOP SHOULD BOOT UP NORMALLY.IF THAT DOESNT WORK,REMOVE THE BATTERY AND TRY TO POWER UP WITH JUST THE AC ADAPTER PLUGGED IN.ONCE YOU GET BOOTED,INSTALL THE BROADCOM WIRELESS CARD SOFTWARE FIRST FROM THE CD THAT CAME WITH THE ADAPTER.THE SET-UP WILL THEN ASK YOU TO INSTALL THE CARD AFTER THE DRIVERS HAVE BEEN LOADED.YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET ONLINE ONCE ALL THE STEPS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.GOOD LUCK
