Wrapping your console in towels then turning it on and letting it run for a few minutes. Its purpose is to get rid of the "red" ring of death. But doing so will void your warranty.

I have a red ring

Try the towel trick, it worked for me. Get a damp towel and cover the X-Box with it. Or you can try putting it in the freezer for a bit, apparently that worked with a friend of mine, I would recommend the towel trick.

Red Rim of Death when I switch on my XBOX360! It's no longer covered by warranty! Please help

Log into the xbox.com site and register your xbox for a replacement, after entering your serial number on your xbox you can check if the xbox is really out of warrenty, because of the regular accurance of Red Rings of Death Microsoft has extended warrenty on xbox's that fail because of this

if your xbox is even out of the RROD extended warrenty
the only things you can do is buy a new one or do the towel trick

please check your extended warrenty before attempting the towel trick as it will void your warrenty

the towel trick overheats your motherboard so the thermal paste melts back onto the motherboard, please note this is a completely temporary trick to get your xbox working again

to do the towel trick, unplug everything from your xbox (hdd, Video cables) just have the power cable plugged in, wrap your xbox in 3 or 4 towels and turn it on, either by pushing through the towels or by using your controller, leave the xbox on for 5-10 mins

unwrap your xbox and turn it off
leave the xbox off with everything unplugged for 2-3 hours if not longer (the longer the better, you want to make sure your xbox has completely cooled down) then after it cooling down completely (remember, 2-3 hours minimum) turn your xbox on and it should work, it may experience a fault or two, but a couple of resets generally fixes this, remember this is temporary, might get another month or so out of your xbox

Xbox 360 randomely gets a black screen

Well here's the problem the towel trick. Ok the problem with the 360s for the most part is small cracks in the solder which causes a bunch of problem from rrod to this. The towel trick heats up the 360 enough to get the solder flowing again thus providing for a temporary fix. The problem is the solder goes places is shouldn't, thus towel trick ends up messing the 360 up more then it helps. My advice send it in, hopefully you still have the warrenty.

The tower trick is only a temporary fix, you will need to replace the xclamp or modify it to fix it for good. See pictures and replacement kit on the following site.

If it still under warranty, contact Microsoft for a replacement.
There is no permanent fix for the Red Ring of Death.

Your lucky, one person on YouTube had the same message(E64)

Some people commenting on the video had this to say about it:

1) "I think this happens when you start a corrupted file (a demo or somthing) because thats what happened to mine. I took off the hard drive when I was downloading BioShock demo. the 360 was off though"

2) "hey buddy, had the same problem... just dont put it in such an area... there is not enough air! hope it wont break another time!"

Then there is someone who says to try this trick:
