Question about Kenmore 78812 / 78814 / 78819 Gas Kitchen Range
Common problem on most gas stoves these days. Burners all light for a few years then one or two won't ignite then eventually all. It's an easy fix. Check the model number of your stove to find its location but usually it's on the bottom of the stove under a metal cover plate or attached to the rear of the stove under a metal cover plate. You can trace the usually orange colored wires going from the burners also. You're looking for the igniter module. Just a small plastic square box with four or more wires plugged into it. Mark which wires go where before removing it. You can research ways to test it on various sites but the most recommended is quite dangerous. It's a $40.00 part in the local parts place or cheaper on ebay. I was so happy to finally get off the matches again. This is more then likely your problem. Good luck.

when you have the burner head on the stove look at where the igniter (sparker) is, in line with that should be a hole in the burner head, make sure that is clear. also make sure the burner heads and caps are lined up properly with the igniters.

Hello bdrillbit - Is the electronic igniter aligned properly? Ensure that tip of spark igniter is aligned with metal point or "nib" located on underside of burner cap after the burner mounting screws have been tightened. (Not all burners having mounting screws). When the burner control knob is set to the "LITE" position do the igniters spark? Can gas be heard or smelled coming from the burners when the control number is turned on? However, if you smell gas, I highly recommend turning the unit and the gas off if you can reach it and contact your gas provider. The range itself does not have a switch or regulator to relight it. Keep in mind that it may be experiencing an issue with the spark module, electrodes, wiring or EOC.
