Appointments off by one hour after DST

My computer automatically sets to DST. When I synched my ipaq to the computer I noticed all the appointments I had already scheduled for the following week were an hour later on my computer on Outlook. I then tried manually setting my ipaq to the DST to match the time my computer had but when I synched with the computer again, the ipaq went back to the regular time AND the appointments I had corrected for the following week were once again one hour ahead. If I leave the ipaq set at the regular time and have my appts in at the correct time, the computer has the appts all one hour ahead. Any ideas how to fix this? Thank you!

No, I didn't. How do I get that?

  • Brigadoon Mar 16, 2008

Oh, okay. I see. Obviously I still have a lot to learn. At any rate, I went to that setting and clicked on Update. What results should I expect to see?

    Thank you!

Well, that's something new to me. I didn't even know that. At any rate, my computer set itself to DST last week but when I just did the update, nothing changed with the problem with the PDA having one time and the Outlook having another time. The appts in my PDA are at the correct time although the time on the PDA is an hour earlier than what it should be given its DST. The time on the computer and thus on Outlook is DST but the appts are one hour later than they should be. Is this just something I will have to live with? Not the biggest problem in the world, though, is it?

Originally the appts were set prior to DST kicking in but the same thing happened when I set new appts for the following week. I'm wondering what you mean when you say an update from MS. Are you talking about something other than what you originally told me about by going to the Time Zone in the Control Panel or something else and if something else how would I do that?

well...it's not something you get..it's a manual adjustment in your settings under date/time, which your computer looks at from all your applications

    control panel
    date/time
    time zone

well..usually it is automatic, but the US Govt decided to shift it one week or ten days, for energy issues. Did your time reset?

well..were those appointments set prior to DST kicking in? Sounds like an update from MSoft might do the trick..it's usually programmed in, but with political decision, it's not as usual

My Dell Axim X5 pocket PC reverts to wrong date

Duh... I figured out that my PC had the date set a month ahead! Not sure how that happened. The Axim was dutifully synching up w/ the wrong date, and so the November appointments didn't register. Thanks for checking.

Problem synching after Daylight Savings Time

I have this problem too. The only way I can correct it, is by removing the battery, reinstalling it and letting it boot up again. Then I plug into the USB port for iPAQ and it seems to connect to ActiveSync. It's a real pain.

Date & Time of calendar

Sounds like your PC is not set to adjust for daylight savings.... the ipaq automatically adjusts for daylight savings but the PC does not. On your PC double click on clock, click on Time Zone tab and then on that screen you will see the box that needs to be checked. also check that both PC and IPAQ are set to same time-zones.

Unresolved Items when synching

Try the following.... Open Active sync on your PC. Double Click on Calendar. Change the settings such that it syncs only 0 past and 0 future appointments. SYNC (this will clear all calendar items on the IPAQ) Now go back in to those Calendar settings, and set it back to the default which is 2 past weeks and All Future appointments. SYNC (this will now reload all appointments into your Ipaq)
