Ok here you guys go if ever this arises - heres THE fix...
Make sure a dvd is already playing...Press Play Once...
Wait like 1 second, Then Press and hold Play...After aprox % Seconds...the P. Scan Should Turn Off...

Been a while since I fixed one of these. I seem to remember a service code entered via the remore, or by turning it on while holding down a combination of buttons, that would reset it to default settings. You can call their Service Center and actually get help. Phillips is one of the few that will respond. They can also send a firmware update disc that resets EVERYTHING back to its original state.
