My hpg62 is slow and keeps locking

Give us more details if you really want help. What do you mean by Google and Documents quit working? What happens if you try to open your internet browser? What happens when you try to open a document?

You most likely have some type of virus infection. And if when you click on an application such as Word, Notepad, Internet Explorer, etc. you get a screen that pops up asking you which program would you like to use to open it, then your Program/File Associations has been changed by the virus.

A slow system is definitely a sign of a virus infection. Now McAfee and Norton will slow you to a crawl if you let your subscription expire and not renew it. So it's best to remove them (uninstall) if the subscription has expired and you don't plan on renewing it.

Internet problem

Hi, Try deleting the temporary files on the temporary folders. Disconnect to your internet connection. Open up internet explorer browser. On the upper right of that page you should be able to see Tools. Select that. Look for Internet Options, which is usually at the bottom of that list. Under browsing history of the GENERAL Tab. Select settings. Now Select View files. Another window will come up. This is the Temporary folder. Delete all of the items present here. Now, try if the issue you are having still exist. If it does you need to reset the Internet Explorer.

Resetting the Internet Explorer:
1. Disconnect from the internet
2. Open up Internet Explorer again.
3. Click on Tools again.
4. Select Internet Options again
5. Go under the Advanced tab - Usually when you open up the Internet Options, the default tab is on General
6. Under Advanced tab Click on Reset

Try testing it again. Hope this helps you.

Cannot download adobe, (or any) files and get following message:

The problem lies in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Sometimes the index.dat file can become damaged.
If this occurs, you'll have to delete the index.dat file and restart your computer.
Then you'll be able to download files correctly again.
Follow the steps below to delete this file.

1) Open Internet Explorer.
2) Click on Tools, Click on Internet Options
3) On the General tab under Temporary Internet Files, click on Delete Files
4) Click Ok when it asks if you want to delete the files
5) Under the History section on the General tab, click Clear History, then click Ok
6) Close Internet Explorer
7) Log off the current user and Log onto another user account such as Administrator
8) Click on Start, Run
9) Type CMD and Press Enter to open a command prompt
10) Change directories to the Temporary Internet Files directory by typing the following command,
(substituting the correct drive letter and the word username with the correct userName).

cd drive:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Example: cd c:\Documents and Settings\Mark\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

11) type del index.dat and press Enter
12) Type Exit and press Enter to close the command prompt
13) Restart your computer

Once the computer has been restarted, open a web page with a link to a download.
Click on the link and download the file. It should now work.

Hi there!! I would like to know how to take the data off of my Toshiba Satellite A45-S151, and put it on my desktop computer. Will somebody please help me or tell me what I need to do? Thank you, and have...

I am assuming by "data" you are referring to individual files, e.g. pictures, documents, etc.

The easiest way would be to use a flash drive to do so. They are relatively cheap anymore. 4GB for $15 or so. Plug in the drive and use Windows Explorer (Not Internet Explorer) to drag and drop files or folders from the laptop to the flash drive. When done, remove the flash drive, plug it into the desktop and, again using Windows Explorer, drag and drop them from the flash drive to the desktop folders.

You could always burn a CD or DVD with the files also if you have a drive to do so, but the flash drive is the easiest way to go.

(Note: To access Windows Explorer go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>Windows Explorer.)

If you need additional help, comment back.
