Question about HP Pavilion ZV5000 ZX5000 Compaq R3000t R3200 series 15.4-inch TFT WXGA LCD Display-350217-001 (350217001) CD-ROM Drive
It is my third happy year with my laptop, however a strange illness has befallen its screen. Unlike the usual screen deaths, the screen gives out a pseudo-inverted color scheme. Red turns to black and white gives way to a wired shade of green. Occasionally pressure on the "D","F" and"V" buttons on the built in keyboard will fix the problem, yet sadly relief is only temporary.
My suspicion is on a loose contact or connector within the Laptop, not the screen. Can anyone provide a second opinion, or perhaps even a solution?
If all else fails, I will open the laptop up and pray for the best; HP is known for making sure that people stay out of their systems.
Does rebooting fix the issue? if so it could be a driver issue.
However I believe its probably a loose ribbon cable. It happens from time to time, the cable eventually loosens up. If your mechanically inclined you can open up the laptop and secure the cable. However if you have never opened up a laptop, theres a good chance you will break a piece of plastic as they are fragile and force must be used in the correct places.
